The Rainy Season is one of the most important seasons of the year. In Nepal, it usually begins in June and lasts till September. During this season, there is frequent rainfall, cloudy skies, and cool weather. The rainy season is very beneficial for agriculture and the environment.

Rain brings fresh water to rivers, lakes, ponds and underwater resources. Farmers eagerly wait for this season because crops such as rice, maize and vegetables need plenty of water to grow. Without enough rainfall, crops cannot grow properly which may lead to food shortages. Therefore, the rainy season is often considered for farmers.

One of the most attractive features of this rainy season is the greenery it brings. Rivers, ponds, lakes and waterfall become full of water. The sound of water and flowing rivers create a peaceful atmosphere. After a rainfall, the air becomes cleaner because dust and pollutants are washed away. As a result, people can enjoy fresh and cool surroundings.

Many people enjoy rainy seasons because of different reasons. Children often play in the rain, make paper boats, and watch rainbows after showers. Students enjoy the cool weather, and nature loves appreciate the beauty of green landscapes. Some people like listening to raindrops while reading novels and books.

In conclusion, despite these challenges, the rainy season remains one of the most valuable seasons of the year. It provides water for farming, drinking, electricity generation, and many other activities. Life would be difficult without the rainfall that season brings.

“Do you believe in God?” is just a simple question for many. But for atheists living in highly religious societies, this is a heavy question; an honest answer to this leads to isolation, judgment, and discrimination. In a world where faith is often treated as the foundation of morality and identity of one, atheists are often misunderstood, judged, and simply excluded, only for choosing not to believe in a god. While believers are free to express their faith openly, non-believers are often suppressed to stay silent to avoid criticism and conflict. Atheists aren't against religion or God they just believe that life can exist without a superior power of divine. In a country where people have the right to live and have opinions, non-believers are forced to be silent or else they are treated like they are against humanity.

In dozens of nations, mostly middle east and Africa atheism and apostasy are legally restricted. There are laws against atheism and apostasy whose violation led to several penalties including death penalty. In approximately 13 countries that have strict Islamic belief advocating atheism results in capital punishment.

In Indonesia, it is legally required to specify a religion on official documents. Nonbelievers say they are being discriminated against. Indonesia being the world's largest Muslim majority nation, officially recognizes six religions: Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confucianism. While atheists and nonbelievers face discrimination and are not even recognized under the law.

Religion can offer comfort, hope, and unity. However, problems arise when belief replaces reason, or when fear and emotional dependence become stronger than critical thinking. History and modern society both show examples of people justifying discrimination, superstition, or irrational actions in the name of faith. Perhaps the real reason many people cling so strongly to religion is not certainty, but comfort. For some, belief in God becomes a way to escape fear, uncertainty, and the harshness of reality a source of mental peace in the chaotic world. Whether that faith is absolute truth or simply emotional reassurance remains one of humanity’s most controversial questions.

In many societies, religion is not only a personal belief system but also a powerful emotional force that is used to influence public opinion and manipulate the public. Political leaders often recognize this and participate in religious events or rituals to build trust and emotional connection with citizens and gain votes. While this may strengthen cultural unity, critics argue that it can also blur the line between governance and faith, turning sincere devotion into a tool for getting into power. In such environments, faith usually shifts from personal belief to collective emotional influence, where devotion and politics intersect. This raises an important question: is religion always a matter of individual conviction, or can it also become a powerful social and political tool shaped by emotion rather than reason?

In the end, the divide between atheists and believers is not simply about the existence or absence of God, but about freedom of thought, acceptance, and human understanding. While religion continues to provide meaning, comfort, and identity to billions of people, it also becomes a source of conflict that is used to judge, exclude, or silence those who think differently. At the same time, atheists are often forced to defend their existence in societies where belief is the norm rather than a choice. This raises a deeper question for humanity: should belief systems unite people through respect and tolerance, or divide them through certainty and superiority? Perhaps true progress lies not in proving who is right or wrong, but in allowing space for both belief and non-belief to exist without fear, pressure, or prejudice.

Artificial Intelligence, or Al, refers to the ability of machines and computer systems to perform tasks that usually require human intelligence. It is one of the most remarkable achievements of modern technology and has become an essential part of today's world. With rapid development in science and technology, Al is now being used in many areas such as education, healthcare, banking, transportation, communication, and security.

Al has greatly improved human life by making work easier, faster, and more accurate. Unlike humans, machines can work continuously without becoming tired, which increases productivity and saves time. In the medical field, Al helps doctors identify diseases more quickly and provide effective treatment to patients. In education, it supports both teachers and students through smart learning platforms and easy access to study materials. Businesses and industries also use Al to improve customer service, manage data, and perform complex tasks efficiently. Because of these benefits, Al has become a powerful tool for progress and innovation.

However, the growing use of Al has also created several concerns. Many people fear that machines may replace human workers in the future, leading to unemployment in certain sectors. Overdependence on Al may also reduce human creativity, critical thinking, and independent decision-making abilities.

In addition, Al can sometimes generate false or misleading information if it is given incorrect data. Another serious issue is its misuse in cybercrime and the spread of fake content on digital platforms. Therefore, it is important to use Al carefully and responsibly.

Despite these challenges, Al has the potential to create a better future for humanity if it is used ethically and wisely. It can help solve global problems, improve the quality of life, and support development in many fields. However; human values, emotions, and understanding can never be fully replaced by machines.

In conclusion, Artificial Intelligence is both a blessing and a responsibility. When used properly, it can contribute greatly to human progress and national development. Al should not be seen as a replacement for humans, but as a tool that supports and empowers people in their daily lives.

Every month has a reputation. January arrives with resolutions. February arrives with roses. December arrives with celebrations. June arrives quietly. Maybe that’s why I like it. I never demand attention. It doesn’t arrive with fireworks or festivals. It simply slips into the year, carrying warm afternoons, longer days, and the feeling that something new is about to begin.

When I was in Grade 10, June meant the beginning of a new school session. Now notebooks would sit neatly on my desk, untouched and perfect.  The first page always felt special. It held possibilities, expectations, and dreams that had not yet met really. For a few days, everything felt possible. I would promise myself that this year would be different that I would be more organized, more confident, and more prepared. Some promises lasted. Most didn’t.

Yet every June gave me another chance to make them again. I think that’s what I admire most about this month. It never asks whether you succeeded last year. It simply opens the door and lets you start over.

One of the first things that comes in June is World Environment Day. Every year we hear about protecting nature, and sometimes those words seem ordinary. But then I notice the trees outside my window moving with the wind or the smell of rain on a hot afternoon. And I remember that nature is not just something around us. It is part of our everyday lives. We often notice its importance only when it begins to disappear.

Then comes June 21, the longest day of the year. I have always found that strangely comforting. In a world where everyone seems to be in a hurry, one day decides to stay a little longer. The sun lingers in the sky. Shadows stretch across the ground. Evening takes its time to arrive.

As a child, I never paid attention to such things. Now I do. Perhaps growing up is nothing more than learning to notice what was always there Maybe, that is why June feels different from every other month. It reminds me that life is not made up of only achievements and important milestones. Sometimes, it is made of simple things. A fresh notebook. The shade of a tree. The smell of rain. A longer sunset. The quiet hope that tomorrow can be better than today.

Perhaps that is what June has always been trying to teach me. Not every month needs fireworks. Some months quietly hand you a blank page. And before you realize it, you have already begun writing a new chapter.

Good morning to respected Principal, Vice Principal, teachers, and all my dear friends standing here today.

For those who do not know me, I am Aadarsha Bhattarai from Mt. Gaurishankar. Today I stand before you as a candidate for the prestigious post of Head Boy.

I have been part of DAV for the past 14 years from Nursery all the way to Grade 12, my final year. I have grown up in these classrooms, stood on these stages, and thus have been to every nook and corner of this esteemed institution.

DAV has shaped me into the person I am today, and now I want to give back to this school through leadership and service.

Leadership requires courage. Not the kind we talk about but the kind that walks into the principal’s office when somethings need to be said.

Outside school, I am also part of a student-led organization called “See the Voices,” where we spread awareness about hearing disabilities and teach sign language. As the Social Media Head and conducting sessions there has taught me teamwork, discipline, and how to represent people properly.

I may not promise perfection. But I do promise effort, honesty, and a student representative who will actually listen.

I may look normal standing here…but somewhere in the back of my mind, one voice just keeps going on -    ‘Excuse me…do you have susubamber bambarbola dagmaggola and dagmagdola?’ …and sometimes it suddenly switches to — ‘Ddiyyyaamnn brooo… why are you so sigma, vro?’

I know most of you recognize this as the Indian Labubu phase… because instead of completing the syllabus, we somehow completed Instagram’s entire reel section.”

I am a student who believes in a balance between academics and sports, between discipline and improvement, and between effort and consistency. I have participated in various elite tournaments, including the Aviation Futsal Tournament and the Himalayan Futsal Gold Cup to name a few. I also took part in the Tottenham Hotspur selection trials held at Chyasal Stadium, Lalitpur, organized by one of the best Indian clubs Kick Start FC. In addition to it, I have competed in several major events including DAV's 7th Shankarlal Kedia Memorial Cup 2025.

Now I'm not here to impress you with words, I am here to share you a direction. Some candidates will promise you victory…. But here, I will prepare you so well that victory won't even have another choice.

WE ALL AIM FOR THE TOP CORNER. …but sometimes the ball goes so far wide that even the nearby buildings seem to be involved in the match.

You can vote for someone who talks about winning or you can vote for someone who stops the losses but I promise I am going to be your Emi Martinez of FIFA World Cup 2022 because while we all want to score like Messi, we all need someone who can save the day when the clock hits 120. Sportsmanship teaches us something much deeper. It teaches us how to treat people.

Being a good sporty person doesn’t mean just playing well — it means being respectful to everyone around you. Your teammates, your opponents, the referee, and even the audience. Because at the end of the day, the person standing on the other side is not just your opponent—they are a human being, just like you, with effort, emotions, and dreams.

It’s easy to be kind when you win. But true character shows when you lose. Do you still shake hands? Do you still respect the other team? Do you accept the result with grace? That is what real strength looks like.

We often forget that matches end, scores are forgotten, but relationships and memories stay. The way you treat someone in a moment of competition can either build respect or break it forever. And this is where confidence comes in.

So, what does it really mean to be a Head Girl? It’s not easy to capture the essence of this role. A Head Girl serves as a bridge between teachers and the student body—and as we all know, a bridge must be strong and reliable. Communication skills, compassion, attentive listening, diligence, and honesty are the qualities that make a deserving Head Girl. Through my involvement in academics and extracurricular activities, I believe I have nurtured these qualities within myself.

I have been actively engaged in writing and publishing. At my previous school, my articles were selected for the school magazine. Last year, I was part of the English Publication Team, and my work was published in The Himalayan Times. I also had the honor of speaking at the farewell program. Beyond academics, I have pursued dance for nearly ten years. Dance is my way of expressing myself—and let’s be honest, who doesn’t enjoy dancing?

Good morning. I am Ojaswi here to deliver a speech on a thought -provoking topic - "The Battle Between Who We Are and Who we Pretend to Be."

In today's world, many people are living two lives. One is the real life filled with fears, struggles, and insecurities. the other is the life they show to the world-perfect photos, fake smiles, and endless attempts to look happy and successful.

We are slowly becoming addicted to approval. we for being judged. So, we hide our true selves. But the question is – if a person keeps pretending for too long, do they eventually forget who they really have? A deep truth about life is that everyone is fighting la battle we cannot see. The student who laughs the most may be under pressure. The quiet person may be carrying pain silently. That is why kindness matters more than appear aner.

Succes is not about proving yourself to the world- Read success is being at peace with yourself when nobody is watching. Because at the end of the day, the most important relationship we have is the relationship with our own mind. Instead of trying to impress everyone, let us try to understand ourselves better. Let us value character over image, reality over perfection, and peace over popularity. And always remember

Over the next few weeks, we will feverishly witness spectacular goals, thrilling matches, dramatic comebacks and unforgettable moments. New stars will emerge, new records may be set as old records might be broken and millions of fans will cheer passionately for their favourite team.

But the world cup is more than just a tournament. It is where dreams become reality. Players who once played football on local grounds and neighborhood streets now have the honour of representing their nations on the biggest stage in the world.

At the same time, the tournament teaches valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline, dedication and perseverance. These qualities help athletes achieve greatness and inspire us to do best in school sports and everyday life.

Good morning respected Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Vice-Principal Ramchandra Khanal, CAO ma’am, coordinators, teachers, and my dear friends. Have you ever noticed how during speeches, suddenly the floor becomes very interesting to look at? Or your friend is busy doing something extremely funny out there? Don’t worry—I’ll try my best to compete with both!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Jiya Jha aka JJ star from Grade 12 A representing mount Guarishankar. But for those who really know me, I’ve been here since UKG.  I am basically a Nyasasaurus parringtoni (the oldest dinosaur) and yes, I’ve spent so much time in this school that I’m pretty sure my blood type is 'DAV Positive.'

And honestly… growing up here, I’ve seen everything— From crying on the first day of school…to now crying before exams. I know we all have been there.

Usually, when people run for Head Girl, they tell you what they will do. I want to tell you what I’ve done—mostly so you know I’m not just a pretty face with a loud voice.

I’ve spent the last 13 years collecting awards like they’re Pokémon cards.

Academically, I had the honor of becoming the School Board Topper, received the Excellence Award four times, earned the Best Portfolio award twice, and being nominated for the Chairman Goldstar Award. In the world of performing arts, I am a Bharatanatyam Senior Diploma holder. Dance has taught me discipline, grace, and the ability to smile even when my feet are begging for mercy. I won 2nd runner-up in Sunalo Tara and in Dancing Star of DAV. From National Level Yoga to Art Competitions and representing my school in the Indian Embassy twice, I’ve tried to represent our school in every way possible. I even got a Scholarship for both my dance and academics.

If leadership was a sport, I’d have a lifetime achievement award by now.

I was the President of the Science Club, Executive Member, Class Captain and also a School Prefect. I’ve even won the Character Tree award twice and also the Eklavya Award. This means I’m officially "Nice" on paper. Even the school knows I have a good personality!

If leadership was just about wearing a badge, anyone could do it. But leadership is about standing up when it's difficult, speaking when it matters and listening when no one else does.

And this is exactly why I want to be your Head Girl.

I’m not promising you shorter school hours or free chocolate every day—I’m a Head Girl candidate, not a genie. What I can promise is to be your Senior Consultant. Whether it’s starting a student-led help circle or making sure our hidden talents get a stage, I promise to make your 2026-27 session at DAV a lot more fun as I want to be the person who helps make it a little easier, a little brighter, and a lot more meaningful.

I joined DAV in Grade 11, means most of you have more DAV in you than I do. Fair Enough. But sometimes it takes a fresh pair of eyes to see a place for everything it truly is. And you can always see DAV alive, during competitions, on event days, during assemblies, or even when one person signs up for something, and suddenly ten more people decide to join. That's energy. That's culture. As Maya Angelou said, "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." And DAV already lives this truth.

So, I'm not here to build culture from scratch. I'm here because I think we can open it up even more because the whole point was never about just some of us. It was always about every single one of us.

There are students in this school who are quietly extraordinary, who just need someone to say, "Hey, this is for you too." I want to be that person.

Now you might ask why me? Because I've been in different spaces in this school winning the Dancing Star award, the Character Tree award, and the Limelight Scholars award. I've been on the cricket field, on the basketball court, and yes, in the classroom too. Sometimes all in the same week — and yes, I've been in all of them. So, when I say this DAV culture belongs to everyone, I'm not guessing it because I know it. Therefore, I want every student here to feel that culture is happening with them, and not around them.

                बृहत् संरचना धेरै छात्रछात्राहरू कर्मचारी वर्ग र प्रशस्त शिक्षकशिक्षिकाहरू एक अर्कामा परिचय हुन केही समय लाग्यो । सहृदयी समकक्षीहरूको सरसल्लाहमा कक्षाहरू निरन्तर चलिरह्यो । पोर्टफोलियो कार्य मेरो लागि नयाँ थियो, तर यो विद्यालयको लागि अति महत्त्वपूर्ण कार्य हो । विभिन्न कार्यक्रममा अभिभावक बोलाउने परम्परा यहाँको अर्को सबल पक्ष हो । डोनट विथ ड्याड्, मफिन व्यूथ मदर एक सफल र भावनात्मक कार्यक्रम हो ।

                मैले हाउस संयोजक भएपछि धेरै कुरा सिक्ने मौका पाएँ । आफूले गरेका कामको विवरण लेख्ने, आफ्नो सदनका व्यक्तिहरूको मिटिङ गर्ने, विभिन्न कार्यक्रममा सहभागीताका लागि विद्यार्थी छनोट गर्ने, आन्तरिक प्रतिस्पर्धा गराउने । देउसीभैलो, गाईजात्रा प्रदर्शन एक अविस्मरणीय क्षण हो । जहाँ संयोजकले वाचन, भाषण, निर्देशन, कला, पोषाक सबै कुरा बारे जानकारी दिने सिकाउने गर्दा धेरै कुराहरू सिक्ने अवसर प्राप्त भयो । प्रतिस्पर्धा भएकाले अन्य सदनका संयोजकहरू पनि दत्तचित्त भएर लाग्नुहुन्थ्यो । एक अर्कामा सरसहयोग पनि आदान प्रदान गरियो । यस्ता कार्यक्रमले विद्यार्थीहरूमा एकताको भावना वृद्धि हुने समूहमा काम गर्ने वानीको राम्रो विकास हुने गर्दछ ।

                तेस्रो वर्ष सामाजिक क्लवको संयोजकको जिम्मा पाएँ । यसमा कार्यक्रमहरू सबै आफैँले नै बनाउने सहभागी छान्ने र सम्पूर्ण जिम्मेवारी लिएर सम्पत्र गर्नुपर्ने हुन्थ्यो । सर्वप्रथम विभागीय प्रमुखसँग परामर्श गरी कार्यक्रमहरू बनाएर प्रधानाध्यापकसँग स्वीकृत गराई कार्यक्रमहरू गरिन्छ । यस वर्ष मैले मुख्य रूपमा १४ वटा कार्यक्रम गरेँ । जस अन्तर्गत पाटन औद्योगिक क्षेत्र भ्रमण, छाउनी संग्रहालय, आर्मी संग्रहालय भ्रमण, सिंहदरबार, नेपाल टेलिभिजन, रेडियो नेपाल भ्रमण गरियो । जुन अति नै महत्त्वपूर्ण रह्यो । पढेको भन्दा आपूmले प्रत्यक्ष रूपमा हेरेको कुरा दीर्घकालसम्म रहन्छ । सिकाइ कार्यमा अवलोकन महत्त्वपूर्ण विधि हो । सहयोगी भावना दिने, संस्कृति बढाउने उद्देश्यले अनाथ आश्रम अवलोकन गरी त्यहाँका बालबालिकाहरूलाई स्टेसनरी, खानेकुरा र केही पुस्तकहरू साथै केही रकम समेत सहयोग गर्यौँ । यो पनि एक महत्त्वपूर्ण कार्य थियो । विद्यार्थीहरू उत्साहजनकरूपमा सहभागी हुनुभयो । बालबालिकासँग साक्षात्कार गर्नु, गीत गाउनु, नाच्नु एक भावनात्मक कार्य हो । सामाजिक विभागीय प्रमुख आरती शर्मा उपस्थित भई गरिएको यो कार्यक्रम अत्यन्त अविस्मरणीय रह्यो ।

                त्यस्तै प्रकृतिको अर्को कार्यक्रम अस्पताल भ्रमण हो । विद्यार्थीहरू प्रत्यक्षरूपमा विरामीलाई भेट्ने, कुरा गर्ने केही खानेकुरा दिने कार्य गरियो । यस कार्यक्रममा कामना अधिकारी र शुष्मा लम्सालले साथ दिनुभयो । अर्को महत्त्वपूर्ण काम झम्सिखेलको सरस्वती मन्दिर सरसफाई कार्यक्रम हो । जसमा विद्यार्थीहरू आफू प्रत्यक्ष सहभागी भई सरसफाई गर्नुभयो । धार्मिक क्षेत्रको रक्षा गर्नुपर्छ भन्ने जागृत भयो । ट्राफिक सम्बन्धी जानकारी गराउने उद्देश्यले ट्राफिक मुख्यालयबाट प्रत्यक्ष उपस्थित भएर बुद्ध हलमा रामचन्द्र खनालसरको उपस्थितिमा भव्य कार्यक्रम सम्पत्र भयो । साङ्केतिक भाषा बारेको एक कार्यक्रम गरियो । नेपाल रेडक्रस सोसाइटिका प्रशिक्षकज्यूको उपस्थितिमा जेतवन हलमा विद्यार्थीहरूलाई प्राथमिक उपचार र विपद् व्यवस्थापनका कार्यक्रमहरू गरियो । शैक्षिक कार्यक्रमतर्फ हाजिरी जवाफ प्रतियोगिता सञ्चालन गरियो । बोर्ड डेकोरेसन, एसेम्बली कन्डक्सन, नियमित बैठकहरू सञ्चालन गरियो । क्लव सभापति अनुष्का शर्मा लगायत सम्पूर्ण एक्प्यूकेटिभ सदस्यहरूलाई धन्यवाद । मलाई प्रत्यक्ष सहयोग गर्नुहुने उपप्रधानाध्यापक रामचन्द्र खनाल, विभागीय प्रमुख आरती शर्मा, संयोजक कृष्ण जोशी सर, शीतल सर, आकाश विश्वकर्मा, दिलिप आचार्य, रेणु विसी, टि. एन् भुजेल  लगायत आनीया शर्मा र सर्वानी सुवेदी, नमांशु मिश्र, सोयम थापा, पृथा गुरुङ, शकुन शाहलाई धेरै धेरै धन्यवाद । जुन सुकै दिएको काम सफलताको साथ सम्पत्र गरेर सहयोग पुर्याउनु भएकोमा ।

What people often see is the smile, the medals or the applause. What they don’t see is the struggle – the moments when I doubted myself, the times I felt like giving up. Btu those moments shaped wo I am today. This is not just the story of sixth grader, this is the story of me – a learner, a dreamer.

From the time I was almost about five (5) to six (6) years, I loved dancing, singing and even trying my hand at yoga. Performing on stage felt magical, like I could be anything I wanted to. But soon, I realized that chasing your passion is never as easy as it looks. Behind every performance were hours of practice, sleepless nights before competition, and the fear of making mistakes in front of thousands of eyes.

One moment that truly tested me was during a science quiz competition. Our class teacher, full of trust on us, chose me and two of my friends to represent the class. I felt like an honour – until the result came. The results were so bad that the entire classroom’s laughter echoed in my ears. It wasn’t just the laughter; it was the silent disappointment on my teacher’s face that hurt the most. I felt like I had let her down.

That could have been the moment I gave up. But instead, it became the moment I chose to rise. I promised myself that failure would never define me – my efforts would. I started pushing harder – not just in quizzes, but in everything I did. I decided to practice more, learned to balance my hobbies with studies, and focused on becoming better, not perfect.

Now, when I dance, sing or do yoga, I do it with confidence. I know that one result doesn’t decide my worth. It’s the courage to stand up after falling that really counts.

I may still be a sixth grader, but I carry heart of a learner who refuses to give up. I am not perfect, and I don’t wish to be. I just want to keep growing – because I am more than you see.

My name is Aaliyah Tibrewal. Life has been a rollercoaster of lessons with success as well as failures, shaping what I am today. From young age, I have dreamt big. One of my biggest successes was when I got the batch of prefect. It made me believe in myself.

However, failure was not far behind. I stumbled at times. I thought I was prepared and I lost the opportunities I badly wanted. Those moments were painful but made me stronger. Success taught me to be grateful while Failure taught me to be resilient. Both built my character.

There were times when I wanted to give up but some thing inside me whispered, “Keep going”. Soon I realized that success is not just about winning. It’s also about rising every time you fail.

Both my good days and bad days have made me stronger. I may not be perfect but I keep moving forward and that is my real success. I still have a long journey ahead, but I walk forward with lessons from my past ready for whatever life brings next.

Being a social worker is a great task indeed

As they help the ones in dire need,

The societal problems they all eliminate,

They do all the work in the society of now

But they show no pride, and & they always bow

They sit in the shadows, do work of the dirty

As we sit in our houses, free of worry.

A toilet to clean & a soul to cleanse,

Their work shadows all when focused on a lens

They cheer their wounded hike a wonderful surprise

Even though they only get ‘thanks’ as a prize.

They hear the cries of the poor & the weak

Thought their cries get drowned in our world of greed,

They pick them up from the side of the street

& try to get them all they need.

They followed the path said to be right

& pick up those who lost the fight

& gave them their strength to stabilize

The sorrowful past that lies behind.

Their duties are numberless,

Their work is reserved,

They push through the shadows,

To remove al the dirt.

AS one can see their life is really tough,

So what one can do is show them love,

For their work is not of meaningless regard,

Saying all that, I’d like to formally depart.

Dear Future Aadya,

If you are reading this in 2036, it means something greater than success has already occurred – transformation. In 2026, I am still only in the beginning of a story no one else can yet recognize. I sit in a classroom filled with noise but not applause, opinions but not understanding, comparison but not recognition. I have certificates, but not a single award – yet that does not make me smaller. It only means my victories are still in transit.

The world around me cannot imagine the size of my dreams, but dreams were never designed to fit inside classrooms. And so, I write this not to glorify who you became, but to honor the girl, who believed before there was proof. Because greatness rarely announces itself at the start - it whispers.

Before I speak of you – accomplished and unforgettable – I must speak of me, the beginning. I do not stand out here, not yet in a room full of voices that mock and misunderstand. I am quiet but one day, my future self will stand before the world – and when she does, the applause will be loud enough to drown every doubt ever spoken in this room.

By 2036, I hope you have completed your MBBS at AIIMS Delhi and pursed your MO at Charite-Universitatsmedizin Berlin where science and humanity walk hand in hand. I imagine you studying psychiatry and neuroscience not merely to diagnose illness, but to understand minds – their trauma, their chemistry, their metaphors.

Because to you, the brain was never just neurons and synapses; it was poetry, philosophy, memory and emotions. The world expected you to heal bodies, you chose to heal souls. I hope literature never left you behind. Even when research papers crowded your desk, I hope poems crowded your heart. Because the world needs scientists who can feel and poets who can question. now I imagine you yet another threshold – accepted into a PhD program at Oxford University, London. while conducting research at the Broad Institute, one of the world’s greatest medical research centers. Perhaps your papers shift society’s understanding of mental health, proving that healing is equal parts. Science and empathy.

When we come to school and attend various classes, we get various knowledge which is really helpful for our life. Knowledge is something that cannot be stolen or taken away. It is with us no matter where we go. By bunking classes, we do not get this knowledge which is not only harmful for our present but also for our future. This has a very devastating impact on our life. by bunking classes we may enjoy the present, we may have fun with our friends, but this won’t be helpful for the future. When we bunk classes, we skip education and education is the most important wealth of knowledge helpful for our life. By bunking classes like Maths, English, Economics, Business Studies, IP or any subject, we bring disappointments to our teachers and school. Bunking classes is like disease which sickens our entire life later on. Therefore, we should not, never bunk classes.

I love my land both wide and free

Its mountains, fields and every tree.

The flag that waves up in the sky

Fills me with pride, I can’t deny.

I stand for peace, for truth, for right

For those who fought with all their might,

My name is Suruchi Thakur. My birth place is Thapathali, Nepal. My birthday is 7th December, 2014. I love my family members – father, mother, elder sister, younger brother and me. I live in Dhobighat, Lalitpur.

My School life:

I joined school at two and half. I was in Gurukul English School . Now I am in DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School in Lalitpur, Nepal. I study in grade 5 right now. I was in this school for my LKG. My class teacher is ‘Sangita Thapa’, a very kind hearted teacher. She helps whenever we need her. My best friends are Ranisha and Sambriddhi who are also very helpful and kind. My favourite subject is Maths because I like solving problems like division, addition et cetera.

My hobbies & achievements

My hobbies are drawing, art & craft, signing and et cetera. But among all, drawing is my favourite hobby. I like to draw nature, people. Drawing really helps me calm down.

I got Yellow and Half Green belt in Taekwondo.

I got 3 medals and a rising star award in Taekwondo.

I won 3rd in a district level cifhting competition with a twisted knee.

My dream

My dream is to become a doctor because I want to treat ill and sick people and help them. My dream place is South Korea. My goal this year is to get ‘Star Kid’ of the year.

Being a Prefect is not just about wearing a badge; it is about carrying a responsibility honestly. I believe that I am perfect for the post of Prefect because I have always tried to set an example for others through my behaviour, dedication and sense of duty. A prefect should be someone who can be trusted, respected and have dependable qualities that I constantly try to uphold in school.

As a prefect, my main duty is to maintain discipline and unity among students. I make sure to follow all school rules and encourage others to do the same, not by fear but by example. I try to communicate politely with my classmates and juniors, listen to their true leadership is not about giving orders, but about guiding other with teachers. I have also learned that true leadership is not about giving orders, but about guiding kindness and fairness.

I understand that perfection is about being flawless, btu about learning, improving, and taking responsibility for one’s actions. Even when I make mistakes, I take them as lessons to become a better leader and student. That is why I believe I am a prefect for this post. And it is not because I am the best but because I try every day to be better than yesterday.

In conclusion, being a prefect is an honour that I deeply value deeply.

Walt Whitman, is a famous poet from America. He was born on 31st May, 1819. He is famous and well known for his poetry book, ‘Leaves of Grass’, a poem where he writes about nature, love, democracy and the beauty America holds. He also worked as a teacher, journalist, and he helped wounded soldiers during the Civil War. His writing style was new and bold. Even though some of his poems were banned, he is now remembered as one of the greatest poets in the American history. He died on March 26, 1892.

On the 13th of September 2010, I. Shrawasti Maharjanwas born into a loving family. My father and mother were both in their thirties witha five-year-old daughter when they welcomed me into their lives. Growing up, I had always been a cheerful and energetic kid who would put asmile on everyone’s faces, however, like most kids, I too was involved in mischief. I spent well over 7 years in a village in the valley. Those 7 years have taught me endless life skills.

I have been reading books of mystery, crime, thriller, justice and politics since I was 10. Therefore, it is only natural that my interests include law andspeaking up for justice. My aim in life is to be able to pursue a career in the same field.

White there is still a long for me to go as I amjust 15. I have Taken liking to for the slow-posed life that I currently live. My family and my friends’ support always keep me driven to achieve my goals. I hope I always remain as motivated as I currently am in life.

Do you know why soldiers always wear uniforms? Is it only for appearance? It is NO.

A uniform represents discipline, unity and responsibility. When soldiers wear the same uniform, they feel equal and work together for a shared purpose. The uniform reminds them of their duty towards the nation.

In the same way, school uniforms play an important role in shaping our character. Wearing a uniform everyday teaches us discipline. it helps us develop good habits such as punctuality, neatness and respect for rules which are important not only in school but also in life.

Uniforms also promote equality among students. When everyone wears the same uniform, it creates a sense of togetherness and belonging. Students feel more connected to one another which helps in building a positive and friendly school environment.

A uniform also gives us a strong identity. It shows which school we belong to and reminds us that our behaviours respect our school. Just as soldiers respect their uniform, we should respect ours too.

In conclusion, a uniform is not just a dress. It is a symbol of discipline, equality, unity and pride. Wearing our uniforms properly, we learn values that helps us become responsible individuals.

Beginning with tears, growing with time with fun: My school life didn’t begin with happiness but with tears. I cried so much that my mom had to take me before the bell rang in my first school – V. S. Niketan. I didn’t have a problem with studying, but I had problem with going to school by leaving my home. In the first day of my second school, Euro School, the same story happened. One of my teachers was kind but the other one was very strict at the beginning. I cried seeing her scolding everyone. Later on, I also found out that the strict teacher was very cool and funny.

My first day at DAV was pretty ordinary. I didn’t cry or do anything special. I just spent the whole day being a good child which got me a big piece of chocolate. I’ve had proud moments too like winning the first ever inter-school competition in cricket and doing well in other competitions.

My favourite part is spending time with my family. My father cracking bad and funny jokes, my mother forcing everyone to sleep which no one obeys and my sister making snacks which I beg to eat and steal. This happens all the while we are watching shows and cricket or sometimes football.

Stories with small moments: One ordinary moment with my family that’s special to me is sitting together and watching shows – especially Ramayana. My father teases my sister because he loves her, my mom always trying to sleep and I enjoy teasing everyone.

But when did I feel like I am different, but like the rest? From the beginning of my school life, I didn’t enjoy school as much as others. I was always a year older than most of my classmates. Maybe that’s why I understand some things a bit faster than others. A small memory that means a lot to me? There are many. My sister cooking and me going crazy for it. I tend to get happy from small things at home but not so much in school. I may not always feel like hero, but deep inside, I know I have something special that keeps me going.

The boy who will leave a mark: I have always been the person who speaks and stand tall. I do not believe in following but I believe in leading. Yes. Sometimes, I may feel a sense of pride in myself but not because I am overconfident but because not many choose to be. I have always tried to be the best among all. I do not know where life will take me, but I want to make a mark on everyone. I want to be known as the boy who came, saw and left a mark.

Who says the one who doesn’t speak

There's a big difference between the term 'democracy' and what it truly means to be democratic. At its core, democracy is a system where power rests with the people. This power can be exercised directly or through elected representatives. But does the right to vote alone make us democratic? Not really. Many people welcomed democracy for granting freedom of speech, civil liberties, and social progress beyond the monarchy. Yet recent Gen-Z-led protests results reveal harsh realities. Democracy is like the two sides of a coin: one side promises freedom and opportunity, while the other exposes gaps between ideals and reality.

It is us, the students sitting in classrooms today, the young voices questioning, debating, and demanding better. My name is Laiba Ansari and this is the story of my life. As a student, a journey is marked by both proud achievements and a humbling failure. Through each chapter, I have grown, learned, and discovered as to who I am, and what I am capable of.

From early age, I was taught that education is the key to a better future. I took that to my heart and gave my best in school. In primary classes, I was often among the top students, loved reading, asked questions and participating in my class. My teachers encouraged me, and my family celebrated every good report card. These early successes gave me confidence and a strong desire to learn more.

However, as I moved into middle school, things changed - the subjects I loved became harder, the competition tougher and my motivation began to waver. Then I had average report card. All I got was B or C grades.

That failure shook me, but it also taught me a lesson – success is not guaranteed by talent alone. It requires hard work and consistency. Yet, my failures never defined me, they refined me. I began improving my grades and focusing more in study.

Now, as I continue to my academic journey, I carry both my successes and failures with pride. Each success is a reward for my persistence and each failure is a stepping stone that taught me resilience. I have learned that failure is not the opposite of success an intimate part of it.

We live in a society where, from a very young age, majority of us are taught to equate learning with grades. For many decades, educational institutions have been using grades to evaluate the academic performance of students. Whether it is an elementary school or a university, the grades of students decide the opportunity and the recognition they receive. As we grow up, we start to believe that marksheets represent who we are and our ability to perform. However, the use of grades as a real measure of the learning of students is still a debatable issue.

Many would agree that our academic performance is what truly shows our ability. It is a real fact that exams are taken to measure students’ knowledge of specific topics and overall understanding. It is also true that it helps us apply knowledge in practical situations and critical thinking. However, students learn at different rates and in diverse ways. Some students may understand concepts slowly but show great problem-solving skills overtime. Moreover, some prefer memorizing. Memorizing can get students excellent grades although this may result in failing to apply knowledge in practical situations and critical thinking. Mainly, students who are under pressure to get high scores are seen most likely to memorize than actually understood the concept.

Therefore, grades cannot always portray a student’s true understanding. For instance, in a widely famous movie ‘Dead Poet’s Society’ students attend a strict school focusing on great academic success and high scores. However, when a new teacher arrives, he encourages them to be free thinkers, to question ideas and take a deeper interest in poetry. Similarly, in ‘3 Idiots’ movie, a character named ‘Chatur’ is given an opportunity to speak on a stage. He prefers to memorise the speech rather than understanding the main concept. This results in him messing up the whole speech. There are several more movies which relates to real society as it portrays how sometimes even schools and society judge students according to grades. Although, it is true that grades represent students’ knowledge of specific topics, it does not reflect one’s true potential.

In conclusion, grades can show how well a student performs in exams and assignment but they do not always give a complete picture of true learning. learning is more than memorizing facts or scoring high scores. It is to understand concepts, think critically to develop practical skills. Evey student is different and has different strength and talents that cannot always be measured by numbers.

Hi! My name is Kajal Sen Shrestha. I was born on April 7th 2013, Lalitpur, Nepal. Also known as the land of mountains, momos and slow-wifi. I’m an average girl with a not-so average dream, but a big love for music and travelling.

Music is basically my third language. It’s how I cope, celebrate and daydream. I’m talking to you, my twelve -year-old self, the kid who thought love was forever. You remember the day we bought our dog? You named her Jennie, with so much care, and without realizing it, you gave her a piece of your heart too. She wasn’t just a dog, she was your comfort friend, the one who waited for you every day. You grew attached so fast, and you thought she would always be there.

Then, one day, she wasn’t. After a few months, Jennie ran away, and you never understood why. I remember how quiet you became, how the house felt empty even though everyone was still there. You searched for her in every sound outside, hoping it was her. You were sad for days, maybe longer than you admitted. You’ll call father, and when he turns on the torch light, there she’ll be, Jennie sitting there, sitting there tired with wounded eyes, looking straight at you like she never left. She’ll be covered in wounds, and your heart will feel happy and sad at the same time. Happy because she came back, sad because of what she went through. That moment will teach you that love can get lost, but sometimes, if its real, it finds it way back to YOU.

Growing up in a Hindu desi family, I have experienced having different names everyone calls for. I am Eva Fatima Hussain. I was born on 22nd Nov. 2012. Though I live in Kathmandu, I was born in Damauli, Tanahun. My father is Abdul Hussain and my mother is Hasina Khatun. I have two siblings, Firdous Fatima and Zishaan Hussain.

My childhood was pretty fun. My parents do business. I was in Damauli for 1 / 2 years and came to Kathmandu. As I grew older, I realised life is not easy. My life is going good until now. But some moments were there where I have cried. I was not emotionally strong but now I can control my emotion. Do you know who made me walk the right way? I am Dhanishta Gurung. I was born on 4th February, 2015. I did my previous schooling from Ujjwal Tara School near Suncity apartment and I was a walker there. I wanted to be a bus student and therefore, I came to DAV.

First time in this school as a new student was very tough. I studied hard and I got A+. I think study, education, and discipline are most important for success.

Finally, it has been five years now. I got selected for Portfolio award as well as for Prefect. I am  very happy.

I thought the dark would never end. It felt as if the dark would swallow me whole and I would never escape. I felt empty and so very dead inside, even though my heart was beating quite well.

I went to school and laughed at jokes I didn’t even hear as I pretended to care. I wanted to get better I really did but no matter how much I tried I kept circling to the same condition, I was trying to get rid of. I felt stupid as I started to compare to others. I started to hurt myself for the pleasure.

My recovery didn’t have fireworks. No, it didn’t. It started because of a simple reason a friend at school asking if I was okay or not. I started noting my days as I slowly get better. I am not ‘fixed’, I truly might never be but I stand proud in front of the reflection pondering about how I truly escaped that nightmare. I just gotta remind myself that it’s okay not to be okay.

In today's sporting world, communication plays as vital a role as skill and discipline. For me, the English language has been an essential tool in my growth as a young golfer, allowing me to learn effectively, interact with international players, and gain exposure beyond national boundaries.

One of the most significant experiences was during the Nepal Amateur Open Golf Tournament, where I had the opportunity to interact with Indian lady golfers. English served as a common platform, enabling us to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build a mutual understanding both on and off the course.

This interaction not only enhanced my confidence but also deepened my appreciation for the global nature of the game.

Similarly, the importance of English became even more evident during a one-week intensive training program conducted at the Royal Nepal Golf Club by an Australian professional coach. The coach's instructions, technical insights, and motivational guidance were all delivered in English. Being able to comprehend his lectures with ease allowed me to fully absorb the training sessions and apply the knowledge directly to my practice. Without this ability, such an enriching learning experience might have been limited.

These experiences reaffirm that English is more than just a language; it is a bridge that connects golfers across cultures, countries, and levels of the game. It facilitates learning, fosters friendships, and broadens opportunities. As I continue my journey in golf, I am confident that my command of English will remain a valuable asset, enabling me to grow not only as a player but also as a global representative of the sport.

My name is Antara Gurung. I was born in 2014, October 20 (Kartik 3, 1 day before Kag Tihar), on Monday 11:33 in Jhapa, Damak hospital. I am the youngest in the family of 4. Growing up, I was always curious, energetic and full of dreams. Life however, is not always easy as we wish it to be. I have had both successes and failures and each one has helped the person I am today.

The first thing you should know about me is probably my name. So, my name is Aayushika Bhattacharya. In my 13 years of experience of life, I’ve learned quite a few things. Many of them are from my mistakes, my school, my teachers, my siblings, and most importantly, my parents and grandparents.

I have made a ton of mistakes and learned from them. The people I love most are definitely my parents. I love my grandparents and siblings but not in the same way. I’ve always dreamt of being like my mom – strong, brave and beautiful but always elegant. I also want to be like my father – tall and have the sharpest eyes in the world. My siblings on the other hand are so annoying and irritate the best out of me. But I still look up to them even if they are shorter than me.

Well, I had always been the forgotten middle child because I’m usually the one who gets good grades, athletic etc. However, I am still the most beloved. They love me a lot.

Until grade six (6), I was a straight A2 student but now I am a straight A1 student in grade 7. And this is my success story.

Over time, the concept of libraries has evolved from being just a source of knowledge to something even more. According to a survey conducted by READ Nepal, there are 928 libraries, many of which are in the Bagmati Province. This shows a stark and telling contrast between he urban and rural areas of Nepal. Even if there are a lot more libraries int eh valley, they are left unutilized. The population of Nepal mostly consists of youth, many of which are still students, job seekers or candidates of national level exams. If libraries are used to their full potential, they can provide this portion of the population a safe, comfortable and well-equipped workspace. They can also help cut costs by providing the service of lending and borrowing books and study material for students. Libraries also create a path for forming communities, clubs and many social groups.

Not only do they act as a vast ocean of knowledge but they also provide means of entertainment for many. Nepal’s population also consists of a large percentage of elderly and children. Establishing a well-equipped library would benefit both these groups by supplying suitable reading material for these age groups. Libraries have also shown to boost local businesses through increased foot traffic and incidental spending. Thus, soft infrastructure like libraries is just as important as infrastructure and economic growth, which Nepal’s development strategies mostly focus on.

In conclusion, libraries in Nepal remain undervalued, utilized and underfunded despite all the benefits they provide. They still remain an overshadowed opportunity of social and economic growth. As countries around the globe develop and fund libraries with this realization, Nepal too must value these spaces and form development plans specifically catered towards these public spaces. Public libraries might just be the missing puzzle piece in Nepal’s rapidly evolving public, social and economic spaces.

I am Sadaf Khurshid, the middle child of my family who can’t control her facial expression, mouth and needs PERFECTION.

I was born on 31st May, 2011, in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. I don’t remember properly where did I open my eyes and see the world but yeah, my parents told me that I was born in India. They clicked my first picture and childhood picture in a camera which GOT LOST OUT OF NOWHERE!! That hurts…

Okay. So my parents brought me to Nepal. My older sister was already here in Nepal. I love her though she was annoying before. She passed out 12 and is now preparing for NEET in Lucknow. Proud of her!

Now, coming to my younger sister, she is a weirdo and irritating. Kinda hate her (siblings fights 😊) but love her when she does my work. She is now in grade three. And OMG, she never respects me.

Anyways, I did my schooling from Whitefield Secondary School. It is in Chhetrapati. I started my school from Grade 1. Yes! I didn’t do my kindergarten and pre-school. I just gave my entrance exam for grade one and passe it. I don’t know how but happy me. I had my worst day during the first day of school. I cried a lot.

My parents have always a favourite child ‘Shahmeen’, who gets all the love, fun, respect and all. You know the struggles of being a ‘middle child’.

Okay, now let’s talk about what I wanna be in 10 years. I really wanna be IPS (Indian Police Service) as my parents have ardent desire to see me in the uniform. I know by doing this, my parents would be really proud of me and of course happy and yeah, new thing, interesting but I would love to be of service for my country. But I have to study really hard for it.

I was born on May 20, 2015. I spent my first three years in Moscow, Russia. In 2017, however, we shifted to Nepal. After completing my pre-school, I joined DAV.

During school, I got interested in cricket. Cricket has become very important part of my life. It has taught me many things.

Once, I was playing cricket in school and my team was losing the game. We were sad but we didn’t lose our hope. We got three wickets in one over and the game changed completely.

My name is Saanvi Thapa, the name that carries a deep and beautiful meaning “Goddess Lakshmi” in Nepali, the goddess of wealth, wisdom and grace. I was born in the heart of Kuleshwor, Kathmandu, a place rich in culture, tradition, and the warmth of community on July 1st, 2014.

Every name has a story and mine inspires me to live with kindness, confidence and purpose. As I begin to tell the story of my life, I hope to share not only my experiences but also the dreams, lessons and values that shape who I am becoming.

One of the earliest and dearest memories I carry in my heart goes back to when I was just three years old. At that time, my mother was about to give birth to my younger brother. While she was away, I stayed with my older sister, and I though was very young, that moment left a deep mark in my heart.

I am currently studying in grade 6 and I’m 11 years old. I go to DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School where I’ve made many memories, learned many lessons and grown into the student I am today. I spend my days surrounded by friends, teachers and a world full of learning.

Good morning, everyone!

Today, I want to speak about the most beautiful word in the world – ‘Mother’.

A mother is not just someone who gives birth to us, she is the reason we smile, the reason we are strong, and the reason we know what love truly means. From the moment we open our eyes, her eyes are filled with dream for us. She forgets her own pain just to see us happy.

When we fall, she is the first one to lift us.

When we cry, she is the one who wipes our tears.

When the world turns away, she is the one who stands beside us.

A mother’s love has no limits. She doesn’t expect anything in return. Even when we hurt her with our words or actions, she still forgives us because her heart is made of pure love.

Every sacrifice she makes every sleepless night, every worry she carries all her pains behind her gentle smile. She may not wear a crown, but she is the queen of every heart.

So, every mother – thank you for your endless love, your care, your patience, and your strength.

No words can describe what you mean to us.

You are the reason we are who we are today.

I want to end my speech with one line:

Good morning, everyone!

Today I want to talk about something we all enjoy: music. Music has a powerful impact on our brains, whether it's a song we hum while studying or a melody that makes us feel better after a long day. But have you ever wondered why it affects us this way?

When we listen to music we enjoy, our brain produces dopamine, a chemical found in neurons that makes us happy and motivated. According to a study conducted by McGill University in Canada, listening to favourite songs can enhance dopamine levels by up to 9%, which explains why just a few seconds of music can immediately improve our mood.

Music also enhances memory and concentration. It engages both the left and right sides of the brain, increasing creativity and helping us recall information more effectively. That’s why songs from years ago stay in our minds, while ordinary details are often forgotten.

Music has therapeutic benefits in addition to its ability to provide joy and recall memories. Music therapy is used in hospitals to decrease stress, calm patients, and perhaps help them recover from disease. It can decrease our pulse rate, reduce anxiety, and foster a sense of connectedness with ourselves and others.

During World War II, the singer Dame Vera Lynn released the song” We’ll Meet Again”. It became an anthem for soldiers going off to fight and their families waiting at home. The simple melody and lyrics gave courage and comfort, reminding everyone that even in fear and separation, hope could survive.

So next time you listen to your favourite song, remember that it’s more than just entertainment. It’s science, it’s therapy, and it’s a reminder of how powerful sound can be for our minds and hearts.

Good morning respected teachers and my fellow sleepy…I mean students!

I know its cold. I know its early. And I know at least 90% of you are currently wishing you were wrapped inside a blanket like a warm momo…but don’t worry – I’m here to wake you up with a word that scares us more than winter itself. Yes, you guessed it – EXAMS!

Now, exams are like that one unexpected guest who shows up at your house with zero warning and maximum expectations. They don’t care if its cold, if your brain is frozen, or if you haven’t opened your book since Diwali – they just come, sit on your head, and say, ‘SURPRISE!’

But let’s be honest: We all have a very special relationship with exams. Some people are preparing from day 1. And then there are people like us…who start preparing from Day LAST.

Our timetable goes like this:

Week before exam: “Aree, bohot time haiyaar”.

Night before exam: “I have made a huge mistake.’

5 mins before exam: “Ratta lagao! Kuch tohyaad ho jaaye!’

During exam: “May the odds be ever in my favour.’

After exam: “Sabka gaya. Sabka.”

But exams aren’t just about marks. They teach us important life lessons – like time management…because suddenly, in one night, we learn an entire book that took the author 5 years to write.

They teach us confidence…because only a true warrior can walk into an exam hall without reading chapter 7, 8 and 9.

And they teach us creativity…because even when we don’t know the answer, we still write something with so much confidence that even the teacher gets confused.

But jokes apart, exams are not here to punish us. They are here to show us what we’re capable of – how much we’ve grown, how much we’ve learnt and how far we can go.

So today, in this cold weather, with half of our brains still in sleep mode, I just want to remind all of us – including myself – Exams may come and go, but your efforts stay with you forever.

Marks don’t define us – our willingness to try, to learn and to improve…that’s what actually counts.

So, let’s face our exams with a smile (or at last without having mental breakdown), do our best and remember – Even if nothing goes right…at least now, after this assembly, you are officially awake!

And may our makes be as high as the number of layers you’re weaving today.

From the moment we open a textbook in high school to the day we walk into a university campus, life starts to feel like living inside a pressure cooker. The heat builds up little by little. Expectations, deadlines, responsibilities …. and before we know it, the steam’s already rising. A student’s life really is that constant mix of pressure and chaos, all simmering under the same lid of daily life. You've got exams, after-school activities, sports, health, friendships, and everything else all cooking under that lid of daily life.

It starts early. For many students, the pressure isn’t always forced but it’s suggested. Parents, teachers, and society gently nudge or shall we say push us toward excellence. “Get good grades.”, “Win that scholarship.”, “Be the wisest one.”,they say.These aren’t demands, but they settle deep in our minds like seeds. And as we grow, so do those expectations.

Even when no one says it out loud, there’s an unspoken belief that we should be at the top of our class. That we should stand out. That we should be seen. And when we’re not, it feels like we’ve failed…not just ourselves, but everyone who believed in us.

Then come the SATs, the assignments, the exams. Each one is a brick in the wall of academic pressure. To win a scholarship, you need top marks. To get top marks, you need to ace your subjects. Oh, how can I forget our lovely ECAs? We are expected to be good at our extra curricular activities too! And to ace everything you need time—lots of it. People might say it’s a part of character development, and yeah, I don’t disagree at all.

But time is a luxury for students. Between school hours and homework, there’s barely any room to breathe. And yet, we’re expected to do more.

Extracurricular activities (ECAs) are no longer optional. They’re essential. Sports, music, debate, volunteering, whatsoever! Each one adds a line to your resume or application and a layer to your stress. You’re not just a student anymore; you’re a performer, a leader, a team player.

Outside school, there’s socializing. Making friends, maintaining relationships and health, fitting into society. These aren’t just emotional needs,they’re survival skills. But carving out time for a social life often means sacrificing something.May it be sleep, hobbies, or even mental health.

For many families, university is a financial mountain. Parents stretch their budgets, hoping their child will earn a scholarship and ease the burden. And students feel that weight. It’s not just about grades,it’s about helping your family. About proving that their sacrifices were worth it.

All this pressure feels never ending until it actually ends.Students begin to define themselves by their achievements. Therefore, a bad grade isn’t just a setback; it’s a personal failure. And in that mindset, burnout isn’t a possibility, it’s inevitable.

Making time for yourself becomes a luxury. Enjoying life feels selfish. And slowly, the pressure cooker tightens its grip. And yet again I’m or shall I say ‘We’ are left on the tough spot, which apparently is my character development. Frustration, is it? I don’t really know to be honest

There are some people in our society who do their work on time. They attend the meeting on time, go to school on time. They go to see a person on time. The habit of doing the work on time is called Punchuality.

A punctual person is respected and believed by all. They can surely get success in life. Punctuality leads to success. Whereas unpunctuality leads to failure. Time once gone can't be taken back.

A punctual man doesn't cause inconvenience to others. A punctual man has no short of time. He/she does his/her work patiently and there will be no any mistakes in their work.

All great men and women are successful only due to their dedication and punctuality. This characteristic of a person is considered to be the only key to success. If we want to succeed in life, we need to be punctual for life.

The habit of punctuality begins from the early stage. We need to be punctual so that we can achieve success in our life.

Therefore, let's be punctual.

Positive thinking means seeing the good side of things, even when situations are tough. It means believing in yourself and hoping for the best. When we think positively, we feel more confident, happy and strong inside.

Let me give you a short example. Imagine you are preparing for an exam and if you keep saying, "I can’t do it”, you’ll kill your confidence. But if you say, “I will try my best, and I can do it”, your mind becomes calm and you’ll boost your confidence. Positivity helps you to face challenges. It helps us to stay strong when things go wrong. Many great people like athletes, scientists, leaders, and more people, believed in themselves and stayed positive even when they failed many times. They treated failure as a lesson, not the end and will a positive mindset, they turned their dreams into reality.

In conclusion, positive thinking is like a sunshine for our mind.

Good morning respected Principal, Vice Principal, Coordinators, teachers and my dear seniors and friends!

Before writing this speech, I asked someone for advice. And s/he said, “Don’t say anything weird. People will laugh.” At first, I agreed. I didn’t want to sound silly. I didn’t want others to think I was stranger.

But then, I started thinking – What is weird really?

Is it a weird to speak about something no one else is taking about? Is it weird to share your real opinion when everyone else just roles along? Is it weird to be a little different in a place where everyone else tries to fit in?

Or…. May be, it’s just being honest. Sometimes, when we think differently or say something new, people call it ‘weird’. But different doesn’t mean wrong. It just means you’re thinking for yourself. And honestly, that’s a great thing. If we’re always scared of being laughed at, we’ll never say anything original. We’ll never try anything new. We’ll never grow. The truth is: some of the best ideas in the world sound ‘weird’ at first. People laughed at scientist, artists, inventions and even leaders. But those people didn’t stop. They kept going and they changed the world. So, today, I’m not here to give a perfect speech. I’m here to say what I believe – even if it’s not what everyone expects.

Because I’ve learned something important. Being different is better than being fake.

So, is it really that weird? Or is it just because?

My mom, Indira, is very special to me. She is 37 years old and she worked as a nurse and helped many people. After my little brother was born, she stopped nursing and started her own beauty salon. Now she works as a beautician and she is very good at it.

My mom loves gardening the most. She spends a lot of time with her plants and flowers. It makes her really happy. She also likes to travel around the country and explore new places.

My mom is caring, hardworking, and always supports me in everything I do. She teaches me to be kind, honest and to never give up. For me, my mom is my biggest inspiration.

Starting Class 11 at a completely new school was one of the most life-changing and challenging experiences I have ever gone through. I had just finished my SEE examinations and I was trying to find the perfect school who can help shape my future in the best and I found D.A.V. while I was excited to enter a new phase of academic life, I was also filled with anxiety and skepticism.

Leaving behind familiar faces, trusted teachers, and a school I had known for 10 years was not easy. Joining a new school felt like entering an entirely different universe. New face, new environment, new rules and new everything.

On the first day, I remember standing at the school gate with my heart racing waiting for the teacher to lead me to my new class. Everything was unfamiliar-the uniforms, the building, the students walking confidently in groups. I felt like a stranger, lost in a huge crowd. I walked into the classroom where students were already in their groups and world. Some glanced at me, some smiled politely, but most were busy in their own works. I quietly took a seat in the middle row, nervous but trying to appear confident. That day, I barely spoke to anyone except few of them.

The first week was the hardest. I didn't know whom to talk to during lunch breaks or class

Everyone already had their friends, and I felt like an outsider trying to break into a closed circle.

But slowly, things started to change. Suddenly I felt accepted and started making friends.

Adjusting academically was another big challenge after adjusting. I had chosen the science stream because I was genuinely interested in the subjects. But I quickly realized that Class 11 CBSE was on a whole different level compared to Class 10. The pace was faster, the syllabus more detailed, and the expectations from students were much higher. At first, I felt overwhelmed, especially in subjects like chemistry, physics etc.

However, one of the best parts of this new school was the teachers. They were strict, but also very supportive and passionate about their subjects. The teachers especially made a huge impact on me. They encouraged us to ask questions, think critically, and not be afraid of making mistakes. There words really motivated me to work harder and not give up. I realized that while academics were challenging, they were also deeply rewarding when approached with the right mindset.

Beyond academics, one of the most exciting parts of Class 11 was participating in co-curricular activities and the freshers program held by our seniors. The performances, heartfelt words and the band was epic and was a great start to the journey.

There were, of course, difficult moments. There were times when I missed my old friends terribly or when I felt lonely and unsure of myself. There were days when I didn't do well in tests or felt a bit down. But, those experiences taught me resilience. I learned that change, though uncomfortable, forces us to grow. It pushes us to become stronger, more independent, and more understanding.

Another aspect of Class 11 that left a deep impression on me was the diversity of students in my new school. I met classmates from different backgrounds, districts, and cultures. Interacting with them broadened my perspective. I began to understand different ways of thinking, different lifestyles, and the importance of respecting other viewpoints. It made me realize that learning doesn't only happen inside classrooms- it happens in every conversation, every friendship, and every shared experience.

Even though it's just then start of grade 11 but the hot burning assembly, competition, welcome program, lab practicals, etc. are one of the unforgettable memories I will carry in my life.

Reflecting back, my journey as a new student in Class 11 was filled with challenges, but it was also filled with triumphs. I learned valuable lessons-not just about textbooks and exams, but about life, relationships, and self-discovery. I became more confident in myself, more open to others, and more prepared to face the future.

Conclusion

My experience in Class 11 as a new student was a rollercoaster of emotions and learning. From the awkward silence of the first day to the joyful friendships I formed, from struggling with difficult chapters to celebrating small academic victories every moment contributed to my personal growth. It taught me that every new beginning, no matter how scary, holds the potential for something beautiful. Now, as I prepare to enter Class 12, I carry with me not just knowledge from books, but experiences that will stay with me for life.

Devkota Nepali Club of Junior School organised an Inter-Section Nepali Project Work Competition for the students of Grades III and IV on August 29.

According to Ms. Bandana Karki, the Club In-charge, the programme aimed to foster creativity and independent learning among students. Each participant was assigned an individual project to be completed at home.

The project topics included the formation of singular and plural words, masculine and feminine words, onomatopoeic words, and the names of agricultural tools. From each section, the three best projects were selected. The winners, chosen section-wise, will soon be recognized with Certificates of Achievement.

Library is very important in our life. It gives knowledge and helps us in study. In the library we can find many story books, subject related books and variety others. We can take a book or two to our home for some days to read.

Library is also a very quiet place so that we can focus better. It makes our reading habit better. We can see many books in tacked properly in shelves. It keeps old books in safes for many years.

I think, library is not only about books. It is also a good place to sit and learn. Libraries are not only places to read books but they also provide a quiet environment where we can think and concentrate. They help develop a habit of reading regularly.

Many libraries organize events like storytelling, books exhibitions and reading competitions which make learning more interesting.

Yester’ night, I didn’t feel so good

Let’s be honest — if there’s one Indian festivalwhere siblings pretend to like each other for a whole day (and secretly love it), it’s Raksha Bandhan.

But hold on — it’s more than just tying a fancy thread and blackmailing your brother for cash. It’s a festival with heart, history, and a universal message: "I'll protect you, you annoy me, but I love you anyway."

Wait, Why Are We Tying Threads Again?

The word Raksha Bandhan literally means "the bond of protection." In simple terms, the sister ties a rakhi on her brother’s wrist and says, “Now you’re stuck with me, forever.”

Legend says that Draupadi tied a strip of her saree on Krishna’s bleeding finger, and in return, he became her 24/7 protector. No WhatsApp, no GPS, just pure commitment.

And get this — a Muslim emperor, Humayun, once received a rakhi from a Hindu queen. He honored it like a true gentleman and came to protect her. So yeah, Rakhi has always been more about the heart than the religion.

What Actually Happens?

Sister: Ties a rakhi and gets ready to emotionally manipulate for gifts.

Brother: Smiles awkwardly, gives a gift (or a broken promise), and prepares to be roasted on Instagram.

Mom: Brings sweets no one can stop eating.

Whole Family: Takes 78 blurry photos and calls it a day.

But here’s the beautiful part — you don’t need to be Hindu, or even Indian, to celebrate it. The idea is simple: if you care about someone, let them know. Promise to protect, respect, and tolerate their weirdness — that’s Raksha Bandhan in a nutshell.

A Christian Connection?

Yes! The Bible says in Galatians 6:2, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Sounds a lot like Raksha Bandhan, doesn’t it?

It’s about love in action, family in feeling (not just DNA), and showing up for each other — just like Jesus showed up for us.

So, Should You Celebrate It?

If you have a sibling, cousin, best friend, or that one person who borrowed your charger and never returned it — yes, 100% yes. Tie a rakhi. Say something sweet. Eat laddoos. Celebrate connection, not just culture.

Rakhis may break, but sibling blackmail lasts forever.

When someone says "Switzerland of Nepal", our minds spontaneously paint a picture of snow-draped peaks, peaceful valleys, and a mesmerizing beauty – Jiri, Nepal.

Nestled in the lap of Dolakha district, Jiri is not just a town, it's an untouched masterpiece of nature. It is always willing to be embraced with pride and to be explored with welcoming scenery, cozy breath of nature and snow-capped peaks. 

Jiri valley is a remote and sparsely populated area in the mountainous region of beautiful Nepal.

Jiri is located in the eastern part of Nepal and has a subtropical climate with hot summers and cool winters. It is about 200 kilometers away from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and is bordered by: Mali, Jugu, Gairimuchti, Thulopatal, Sunkhanal, Namdu, Dolakha, Bhimsen, Priti and RaganiChaulakharka. 
This place is home to many ethnic groups, including Gurungs. Tamangs, Newars, Thakalis, and Sherpas. Jiri takes up about 241.25 km of the land located of elevations ranging from 1649m. to 5341m above the sea levels.

Jiri has some of the most welcoming and relaxing places where one must come and have a visit. May have a once in a lifetime visit or experience. It can certainly shape their approach towards life and adventure in and of Jiri.

The place was not known to the people other districts before it was under the Swiss Development Assistance. However, the town has been developing rapidly in the last few years.
For the past few decades, Jiri was the starting point for Mt. Everest expeditions. It witnessed the first steps of daring climbers who went onto make history. In the 1950s, Swiss development agencies helped modernize agriculture and dairy farming leaving behind both influence and inspiration. The Swiss-built Jiri Technical Schools which still stands as a Symbol of that friendship. 

However, even today it unfortunately remains underappreciated as if the beauty that surrounds it is somehow too ordinary for our busy eyes. 
So, why do we only choose foreign lands for wonders when Jiri holds its own fairytale? The cool alpine air, the forests that sings, the winding trails once used by legendary Everest climbers are not fantasy. It is Jiri, the Switzerland of Nepal.    
Imagine the potential-sustainable tourism, cultural preservation, and economic upliftment. All that's needed is our recognition and respect in return for what Jiri offers. Lately, tourism is increasing positively and has led to global recognition about the hidden beauties of the Nepalese indigenous culture, people, food, mountains, and Everest. This is just not about "Jiri". It is about how underrated yet magnificent Nepal is. Such places make heaven feel unreal, like Annapurna Sanctuary, Upper Mustang, Panauti and many other countless and undiscovered places which wait our attention. 

It's time we open our eyes and hearts. Let's not wait for international attention to validate the treasure we already own. Let’s stop dreaming of Switzerland; when we are already in Switzerland. 

Good Morning to all present here! I am Ruchika Singh from Grade 8 ‘H’. Today in this beautiful morning, I have got an opportunity to express my view and idea in front of all of you. Let’s begin with my short and inspiring speech on the topic, ‘Value of Time’.

First of all, What is Time?

The duration between any two events is called time. It is very important in our life. it never stops for anyone. It runs continuously. It has no beginning and no end. It can neither be created nor be destroyed. Once, time is gone, it is gone forever. It is equally important to all – no matter who or what they are.

No one can buy time or sell it. If a person learns to utilize their time properly then no one can stop them to be a successful person. So, we must utilize our time. For an example some people like Elon Musk, Bill Gates are very successful in their life because they know how to utilize their time in a right way.

Time is far more important than money because once money is lost (spent), it can be earned again. But if time is gone, it is gone forever. It cannot be earned again.

Time can be divided into past, present and future.

Past – Since past is already gone, we should learn from our pasta experiences.

Present –Present is very important. If we utilize and value our time now and then, our future will automatically be bright. So, we should not waste our time.

Lastly, I would love to end my speech with an inspirational quote –

“Time is slow when you wait

Time is fast when you’re late

Time is short when you’re happy

Time is endless when you’re in pain.”

Time is currency so be careful how to spend.
