Long ago in lands unknown,
Where ancient minds had brightly shone,
Maths was born from need and trade,
As numbers danced and patterns played.
Egypt counted grains of sand,
Measured land with careful hand.
With ropes and rods, they carved the way,
For geometry we use today.
Babylonians, wise and grand,
Left their marks upon the land.
Circles, angles, stars so bright,
They mapped the heavens in the night.
Greeks then came with minds so vast,
Seeking truths that forever last.
Pythagoras and Euclid’s might,
Made shapes and numbers shine so bright.
India brought the mighty zero,
A silent force, a hidden hero.
Arabic minds made numbers flow,
Bringing the system we now know.
Through time and space, maths evolved,
Countless riddles yet unsolved.
From Newton’s laws to Einstein’s flight,
It shaped the world with sheer insight.
Now in codes and circuits fast,
Maths still leads us to the vast.
A timeless art, so bold, so free,
The key to all reality.
