Walt Whitman, is a famous poet from America. He was born on 31st May, 1819. He is famous and well known for his poetry book, ‘Leaves of Grass’, a poem where he writes about nature, love, democracy and the beauty America holds. He also worked as a teacher, journalist, and he helped wounded soldiers during the Civil War. His writing style was new and bold. Even though some of his poems were banned, he is now remembered as one of the greatest poets in the American history. He died on March 26, 1892.
