Everyone speaks so highly of light,
It gives them courage and the will to fight.
It helps them stay strong as journeys embark,
Yet all live in fear of the quiet dark.
It’s in the dark that crimes are wrought,
It's there that every battle is fought.
Within its depths, lost treasures are sought,
And in its grasp, all fates are caught.
For every seed must dream in clay,
Hidden far from the light of day.
Before it ever meets the sun,
Its life in darkness has already begun.
The silver moon must wax and wane,
To share the worlds both joy and pain.
The golden sun must bow and flee,
And sink beneath the velvet sea.
For even kings and stars must fall,
To follow natures quiet call.
No crown can stay forever bright,
All glory fades into the night.
None seem to realize a truth so small,
That life holds worth because we might fall.
For in the dark, the stars align,
Without it, even the greatest would lose their shine.
Though silence fills it and fear surrounds,
In the shadows a hidden truth is found.
It covers all pain and heals each scar,
Unfathomably beautiful, but from afar.
