A Solemn Tribute to the Lives Lost in the Rasuwa Floods

Date: Sep 7th, 2026

A heartfelt silence fell over DAV School today, (7th September, 2026) as our entire community gathered to honour the precious lives tragically cut short by the devastating floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, Gorkha, Tanahun and Nawalparasi (East and West) districts. With over a thousand lives lost and thousands of families still holding out hope for their missing loved ones, the weight of this disaster rests heavily on all of our hearts.
Students and teachers across every division—from our youngest in Junior School to our seniors—stood together in a moment of silent prayer, holding space for the victims, the survivors, and everyone left for rescue. Outside, our National Flag flew at half-mast, mirroring the collective grief of a nation in mourning.
Together, as one community, we offer our deepest prayers for all those we have lost, wishing eternal peace of each soul and a peaceful heavenly abode. Our hearts and prayers remain with the families still waiting for news, holding onto hope for the safe and healthy return of those who are missing.
