Closing Ceremony of Foreign Language Week

Date: Dec 1st, 2025

The closing ceremony of Foreign Language Week was held yesterday (30th November, 2025) in the gracious presence of the Principal, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, in Buddha Hall.
The programme’s key highlights included presentations by the winners of Foreign Language Week, along with the much-anticipated award ceremony for the week-long competitions, comprising German, French, and Chinese.
As a part of the Foreign Language Week, a variety of engaging activities were conducted for students of the respective language groups, including Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Paper Craft, Lantern Making, writing German postcards, German Spelling Bee, German Word Hunt, German Class Dictation, and French Spelling Bee.
The esteemed presence of the Principal at the closing ceremony underscored the vital importance of learning one another’s languages in today’s interconnected world.
The ceremony also featured vibrant performances, including two German songs—Das ist meine Oma Ida and Das Alphabet-Lied. Students of Class VIII delivered four impressive PowerPoint presentations on The French Revolution, The Brothers Grimm and Their Fairy Tales, The History of Adidas and PUMA, and Mona Lisa. Each presentation was followed by an interactive quiz round, keeping the audience engaged and attentive.
One of the week’s special attractions was the screening of the French film Tintin – The Adventures in the Himalayas, based on a true incident set in Nepal’s Himalayan region. A short question-and-answer session afterwards further enriched students’ understanding and enhanced the learning experience.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and medals by the Principal, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, in the presence of foreign language teachers, honouring the accomplishments of students from Classes VI, VII, VIII, and IX. Altogether, 75 students were recognised for securing first, second, and third positions across various categories.
The MCs for the programme were Head of the Foreign Language Department, Mr. Sabin Shakya, and Middle School Activity In-charge, Mr. Surchen Shah.
