
DAV Secures First Place in MIS Inter-School Futsal Cup

DAV School triumphed at the Inter-School Futsal Cup organised by Modern Indian School (MIS), Chovar, Kathmandu, on 20th June.
The victorious team comprised Sambeg Thapa (Grade XII), Sunil Kumar Shah Thakuri (Grade XI), Jenis Dawadi (Grade XI), Naman Mahato (Grade XI), Suyog Regmi (Grade X), Monti Das (Grade XI), Aaryan Jha (Grade IX), Manas Bam ( Grade X) and Sajan Rajali Magar (Grade X). They were supported by Team Coach Mr Yaman Maharjan and Team Manager Ms Riya Dahal.
According to Coach Maharjan, the tournament featured eight schools competing across Junior and Senior categories. In the Junior category, DAV played three matches on 17th June and progressed to the semifinals. Similarly, the Senior boys’ team advanced to the semifinals after playing three matches on 18th June, achieving two wins and one draw.
On 19th June, the Senior team reached the final following a notable victory over VS Niketan. However, the Junior team was defeated by Modern Indian School in their semifinal match.
The grand final on 20th June saw DAV face Modern Indian School in a tightly fought contest. Ultimately, DAV clinched the championship trophy by winning through a penalty shootout. Additionally, DAV’s Sunil Kumar Shah Thakuri received the Top Scorer Award. The MIS Cup 2025 attracted participation from 10 schools and 600 students across the capital.
