
Participation in Hindi Literature Festival at Nepal-India Friendship Library

Five students from DAV School, accompanied by two Hindi language teachers, participated in the Hindi Literature Festival at Nepal-India Friendship Library in Kathmandu on May 31.
The participating students were Riya Ambastha (Grade IX-G), Sakshi Shah (Grade IX-I), Nabya Gupta (Grade IX-I), Aaditya Raj Thakur (Grade X-H), and Subh Dhanuka (Grade XI-A). They were guided by Mr. Purushottam Pokharel, Head of the Hindi Department, and Ms Indu Thakur, Hindi Language Teacher.
The festival was organised in honour of renowned literary figures Acharya Mahabir Prasad Dwivedi, Sumitranandan Pant, and Kaifi Azmi, whose birth anniversaries fall in the month of May.
The programme was graced by several dignitaries, including Shri Bashista Nandan, First Secretary at the Embassy of India, who chaired the event. Mr. Prakash Sayami attended as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Sweta Dipti from the Central Department of Hindi, Tribhuvan University, was the Special Guest.
The event also saw active involvement from Himalini magazine and Radio Nepal (Hindi programme). The esteemed guests spoke eloquently about the profound literary contributions of Dwivedi, Pant, and Azmi.
Students from CBSE-affiliated schools across Kathmandu, as well as Hindi literature enthusiasts, took part in the programme. Several students recited poems dedicated to the revered literary figures.
Dr. Dhanesh Dwivedi from the PIC Wing of the Embassy of India served as the moderator for the event. Additionally, the student poetry recitation segment was successfully anchored by DAV student Subh Dhanuka.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Sachchidanand Mishra, Managing Director of Himalini Monthly Magazine.
According to Mr. Pokharel, the Hindi HOD at DAV, the students were thrilled to take part in the programme. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gained valuable insights into the diverse forms of Indian literature.
Similar literary events are scheduled to be held monthly in Kathmandu, aiming to honour notable literary personalities whose birth anniversaries fall within that month.
