Election Campaign in Middle School and Voting in Senior School

On 2nd May 2025, DAV School held the election campaign for the Middle School Student Council and conducted voting for the Senior School Student Council in Indu Hall. The event created a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere among students and staff.
The Middle School campaign took place in Buddha Hall, where Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal observed the speeches and activities. At the same time, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater and Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, along with students and teachers from the senior school, participated in the voting in Indu Hall. Their presence added excitement and motivation for both the candidates and the voters.
Prior to the voting, Senior School Activity In-Charge Mr. Tankanath Ghimire briefed the students on the voting procedure and explained the correct method of casting their votes during the morning assembly.
DAV’s Student Council system is an important part of school life. It follows international practices that help students learn leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. During the campaign, the candidates shared their ideas and promises, focusing on involving teachers and students in school programmes. They also thanked the school management and teachers for always supporting them.
As part of the Middle School campaign, candidates running for the posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, and Cultural Captain gave speeches to present their qualities and goals. They tried to win the support of their classmates ahead of the voting, which will take place on 4th May 2025.
For the position of Head Boy, the candidates were Sashwat Chaudhary (Mt. Annapurna), Anmol Maruti (Mt. Dhaulagiri), Yuvraj Poddar (Mt. Gaurishankar), Noah Gabriel Khaling Rai (Mt. Kanchanjanga), Riwaz Pradhanang (Mt. Lhotse), and Aarav Chaudhary (Mt. Machhapuchhre).
Running for Head Girl were Savya Rajbhandari (Mt. Annapurna), Aayushree Bastola (Mt. Dhaulagiri), Ilisha Shrestha (Mt. Gaurishankar), Seema Thakur (Mt. Kanchanjanga), Sherolene Rana Magar (Mt. Lhotse), and Aanya Jha (Mt. Machhapuchhre).
The Sports Captain candidates included Sumit Thakur (Mt. Annapurna), Bishaj Bhadel (Mt. Dhaulagiri), Sugam Khanal (Mt. Gaurishankar), Agrim Ghimire (Mt. Kanchanjanga), Shekhar Sah (Mt. Lhotse), and Devance Yadav (Mt. Machhapuchhre).
For Cultural Captain, the nominees were Eva Fatima (Mt. Annapurna), Aashriya Dahal (Mt. Dhaulagiri), Ravisha Shrestha (Mt. Gaurishankar), Shreya Bajracharya (Mt. Kanchanjanga), Raxoulina Thapa (Mt. Lhotse), and Pragalva Luitel (Mt. Machhapuchhre). All these students are from Grade VIII.
DAV School has three separate student councils for different age groups: the Junior School Student Council for Grades I to IV, the Middle School Student Council for Grades V to VIII, and the Senior School Student Council for Grades IX to XII. These councils help students become confident leaders and active members of the school community.
