Family Jamboree of Grade VII, 2024/25

Family Jamboree of Grade VII, the annual cultural extravaganza for the session 2024/25 was held in Buddha Hall on 6th March, 2025.
The event was honoured by renowned singer Ms. Lochan Bhattarai, who attended as the Chief Guest, with Mr. Narendra Raule – Editor at Ratopati Online TV and Frontline Nepal News Portal – as the Special Guest. The Guest of Honour were the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, alongside Vice Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal and CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater.
Parents and guardians of Grade VII students filled the audience, while the students led their families through a musical journey, showcasing their talents with performances including songs, dances and different thematic enactments.
Middle School Co-ordinator, Mr. Krishna Joshi, warmly welcomed all the guests, sharing that the aim of the Family Jamboree is to provide a platform for students to display their hidden talents.
The evening’s highlights included a soulful classical song (Hindi Song), a thematic dance, contemporary dance, Bollywood dance, Bharatnatyam and Kathak performances, along with both an English song and Nepali dance.
In her address, the Chief Guest Ms. Lochan Bhattarai expressed that this was her second visit to Buddha Hall and praised DAV School for its promotion of Nepali art, culture, and literature, particularly noting the Kumari Dance featured in the programme. She expressed her gratitude to the school for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful event.
Ms. Bhattarai shared her joy in witnessing the school’s learning environment and admitted that she would have loved to study in such a school. She also gave a presentation on the different perspectives of the word “Entertainment” from her vast experience and performed two of her popular songs, receiving praise from the DAV community.
Additionally, some enthusiastic fathers joined in the fun-filled game competition, adding extra excitement to the celebration. The winners were awarded prizes by the distinguished guests.
The event was attended by key school officials, including SSO Mr. Prashant Samal, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, Junior School Co-ordinator Mr. Andrew Fitz Patric, Kindergarten Co-ordinator Ms. Shanti Gurung, and HR Mr. Ashish Rai, all of whom warmly welcomed the guests.
The programme was skillfully moderated by Middle School Activity In-Charge Mr. Surchen Shah and Middle School Teacher Ms. Shreejana Rana. Mr. Santosh Rai facilitated the parents' game competition, and Ms. Samita Raut (Rimal) delivered the vote of thanks, bringing the vibrant cultural evening to a close.
