1-day Hiking to Nagi Gumba and Tare Bhir

The students associated with DAV Sports Academy went for a 1-day hiking to Nagi Gumba and Tare Bhir on February 24.
A total of 156 students along with 14 teachers participated in the hiking. They were accompanied by 2 authorized guides from Shivapuri-Nagarjuna National Park.
The hike started from Shivapuri to reach the designated destination, Nagi Gumba to Tare Bhir. It was an exclusive fartlek programme deliberately developed to Sports Academy students according to Mr. Purnendu Ghosh, HoD of the Physical Education Department.
Overall, the hiking provided joyful opportunities for the students to come out from their regular sports training and remove their stress or boredom. The key objective of the program was to develop physical endurance of the students without any equipment.
The hiking was open to all the Sports Academy students and most of the students from Grade V to XI attended the event. For more details, 41 students associated with Football Academy, 49 students from Cricket Academy, 29 students from Basketball Academy, 10 students from Badminton Academy, 7 students from Table Tennis Academy and 19 students from Taekwondo Academy were a part of hiking programme.
DAV School has also been organizing class-wise hiking or nature walk programmes to connect students with nature in each academic session.
