Character Tree Award and Star Student Award Ceremony of Junior School

DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, in the presence of Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal and Junior School Co-ordinator Mr. Andrew Fitz Patrick, presented the much-awaited Character Tree Award and Star Student Award for the Academic Session 2024/25 (Semester II) during a special morning assembly of the Junior School held in Pratik Hall today (5th November, 2025).
Addressing the assembly, Chairperson Shree Kedia expressed his immense delight at seeing the students back on campus after the long holidays. During his address, he engaged warmly with the students, learning about their holiday experiences. Drawing from his long-standing experience in the education sector, he emphasised that DAV School was established with the vision of nurturing moral values, virtues, and strong character among students. He highlighted that the school’s guiding motto is to help students grow into good human beings, as DAV’s philosophy is deeply rooted in character building. To further illustrate his point, he shared inspiring examples of how character plays a vital role in achieving success and even recited a children’s rhyme to the students, adding a touch of joy to the occasion.
The Character Tree Award recipients from Grade I were Prisha Shrestha, Kavya Jonchhen, Khushi Singhi, Smukti Tamrakar, Reeva Maharjan, Swornim Bajgain, and Samisha Jayshwal. From Grade II, the awards were presented to Smarika Rokaya, Prasiddhi Bhusal, Xelen Maharjan, Abhishree Joshi, Sandharva Rijal, Syalon Rana Magar, Kenjal Shrestha, and Prajesh Kandel. Likewise, the recipients from Grade III were Jigyasha Bidawar, Safal Kandel, Sadristi Ghimire, Aayan Jha, Rahul Ray, Hitika Bhardwaj, Isme Giri, and Ayana Nessa.
The Star Student Award winners were Parmita Thapa of Grade I ‘A’, Xianna Maharjan of Grade II ‘G’, Aarav Bamrel of Grade III ‘C’, and Shaurya Bikram Thapa of Grade IV ‘A’. The ceremony was gracefully moderated by Ms. Anusha Rana, CCA In-charge of the Junior School.
