Fourth Event of Sushil Kedia Memorial Sports Gala, 2026: 3rd Inter-School Basketball Tournament Successfully Conducted

The Physical Education and Sports Department of DAVSKVB School successfully organised the 3rd Sushil Kedia Memorial Inter-School Basketball Tournament from 22nd to 24th August, 2026.
The tournament saw the participation of 11 schools from the Kathmandu Valley. The tournament was conducted separately for boys and girls, with eight schools competing in the girls’ category and ten schools in the boys’ category.
In the boys’ category, BDS won the Championship Trophy, while Holy Vision School lifted the Runner-up Trophy. Similarly, in the girls’ category, Gyanodaya School won the Championship Trophy, while Nisarga Batika School secured the Runner-up Trophy.
Individual awards were also presented to deserving players. In the girls’ category, Suvekchha Bajracharya of Gyanodaya School received the Most Valuable Player Award, while Ashra Rajbhandari of Nisarga Batika School won the Highest Scorer Award.
Likewise, in the boys’ category, Saiel Maharjan of BDS was named the Most Valuable Player, while Aakash Dhami of Holy Vision School received the Highest Scorer Award.
On behalf of the DAV School family, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, in the presence of Head of the Sports Department Mr. Purnendu Ghosh, Basketball Teacher Mr. Prabin Karki and faculty members of the Sports Department, presented trophies, medals and merit certificates to the winners, wishing them continued success in their future endeavours.
Likewise, team coaches from all participating schools, along with the participants and officials, were honoured during the award ceremony for fulfilling their respective responsibilities and contributing to the successful conduct of the tournament.
