Inter-House Biography Speech Competition: English Week 2026, Day-2

William Wordsworth English Club, organised an Inter-House Biography Speech Competition as a part of second day programme of English Week, 2026 in the presence of Mr. Ramchandra Khanal on August 18. The competition was for Grade V to VIII students and was held in two categories: Grades V and VI and Grades VII and VIII.
According to Club In-charge, Mr. Ganesh Poudel, the primary objective of Biography Speech competition was to develop participants’ public speaking and research skills while encouraging them to explore the life, achievements and impact of notable personalities.
The competition featured enthusiastic participation from all six houses, with students confidently presenting their speeches on stage. The judges for the event were Ms. Isha Tripathi, Mr. Anjal Tajpuriya and Mr. Jonash Lepcha (Special Judge).
As per the results, in the Grade VII and VIII category, Navya Mohta of Grade VIII ‘H’ (Mt. Annapurna House) secured the first position. Aanchal Mohta of Grade VII ‘I’ (Mt. Dhaulagiri House) secured the second position, while Sugam Adhikari of Grade VII ‘C’ (Mt. Lhotse House) and Aayushman Kushwaha (Mt. Machhapuchhre House) jointly secured the third position.
Likewise, in the Grades V and VI category, Sambriddhi Naral of Grade VI ‘F’ (Mt. Annapurna House) secured the first position. Diya Daga of Grade VI ‘H’ (Mt. Machapuchchhre House) secured the second position, while Rishika Jha of Grade VI ‘J’ (Mt. Kanchanjanga House) secured the third position. Mona Jha and Elegance Bastakoti served as the moderators of the programme, while Prashanna K. C. delivered the vote of thanks. Certificates and medals will be distributed during the main event, the Closing Ceremony of English Week 2026.
