Inter-House Nepali Verse Poetry Recitation Competition Held on the Occasion of 213th Bhanu Jayanti in Middle School

The Nepali Department, in collaboration with Devkota Nepali Club, organised an Inter-House Nepali Verse Poetry Recitation Competition for Middle School students on the occasion of the 213th Bhanu Jayanti. The programme was held in Jetavan Hall on July 16.
A total of 24 students from Grades V to VIII participated in the competition, with one student from each house representing every grade. The participants impressed everyone with their confident, melodious and expressive poetry recitations.
The competition was judged by Head of the Sanskrit Department Mr. Purushottam Rijal and Senior School Nepali teacher Mr. Modnath Poudel. The programme was moderated by Sarbani Subedi, Shubham Yadav and Seema Thakur.
Addressing the gathering, Head of the Nepali Department Mr. Narayan Khatiwada said that the competition is a regular calendar activity organised to honour the great contribution of Bhanubhakta Acharya to the Nepali language and literature. He shared how Bhanubhakta was inspired by a farmer to translate the Sanskrit Ramayana into Nepali, making it accessible to people across the country. He also appreciated the students' performances and offered valuable suggestions to help them improve their recitation skills
