Family Jamboree of Grade VIII, 2026/27

The Family Jamboree of Grade VIII for the academic year 2026/27 was successfully held in Buddha Hall on July 17. The grand event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Pramod Kumar Agrawal, President of Marwadi Sewa Samiti, alongside the Guest of Honour, Mr. Kailash Chand Goyal, Former President of Marwadi Sewa Samiti. DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, and members of the Management Team warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and parents, ensuring a memorable occasion for everyone in attendance. The programme was professionally hosted by the moderators, Mr. Shyam Lal Das and Ms. Angmu Choden Dukpa.
The formal proceedings commenced with a vibrant opening of the floor featuring English and Nepali songs. This was followed by the formal welcoming of the guests, the traditional lighting of the lamp, the national anthem, and an insightful welcome speech. The highlight of the celebration was the student stage show, where the talented eighth-graders captivated the audience with a variety of performances, including a skit, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, an international dance, a thematic dance, a Hindi dance, a Nepali dance, and an energetic Bollywood routine. To keep the audience engaged, an entertaining game competition was also organized for interested parents, with the winners being honored with awards immediately after the contest.
Addressing the gathering on this auspicious occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr. Pramod Kumar Agrawal, extended his heartfelt gratitude to the DAV School Management for the invitation. He fondly recalled that his three children and two daughters-in-law were educated at DAV during the late 1990s. Reflecting on the school's remarkable growth from 1993 to 2026, he expressed his immense pleasure and warmly appreciated both teachers and parents for their dedicated efforts in upbringing the children. Furthermore, Mr. Agrawal paid tribute to the Late Shree Ramkumar Kedia for his significant role in uniting the scattered Marwadi communities in Nepal, and the Late Shree Shankar Lal Kedia, who, despite being a businessman, significantly contributed to preserving Nepali religion and culture, undertaking various social works including the establishment of an eye hospital. Seeing DAV School thrive on this strong foundational legacy brought him great joy.
Continuing the historical reflections, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal recalled that in 1997, the Rana government entrusted the responsibility of conserving and protecting the Gaushala to the Late Shree Ramkumar Kedia, recognizing his deep sense of service to the country and its people. Acknowledging this legacy, DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia shared that he has consistently attempted to follow in his ancestors footsteps. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour for accepting the school's invitation and wholeheartedly praised the distinguished guests for their own ongoing social work in the service of humanity.
