Sanskrit Shloka Chanting Competition for Grade VIII Students

Sanskrit Shloka Chanting Competition was observed among Grade VIII students in Jetavan Hall on June 30.
The competition was conducted by Janardan Sanskrit Samuha to help students improve their knowledge of Sanskrit Stotras, strengthen their memory, develop clear pronunciation, and understand the rhythm and melody of Sanskrit chanting. The event was smoothly hosted by by Hitanshi Shahi and Sirwansh Raj.
Ten groups from Grade VIII participated with great enthusiasm, reciting different Sanskrit shlokas before the judges Mr. Niranjan Khatiwada and Mr. Sudarshan Adhikari. The judges assessed the students on pronunciation, rhythm, confidence, and overall presentation.
The Gargi Group of Grade VIII 'I' won the first position with 85 points for their recitation of Mahishasuramardini Stotram. The winning team members were Nidhi Das, Stuti Suman, Anushka Jaiswal, Deshna Sancheti, Pragya Shah, and Jenny Chitrakar.
The Vishwamitra Group of Grade VIII 'D' secured the second position with 69 points for presenting Charpatapanjarika Stotram. The team included Ananya Risal, Prashanna KC, Dikshant Raj, Manaswi Devkota, Shubhadeep Basu, and Adisa Dahal.
The third position was jointly shared by the Kalidasa Group of Grade VIII 'B' and the Panini Group of Grade VIII 'H', both scoring 66 points. The Kalidasa Group recited Bhavanyashtakam, while the Panini Group presented Devyaparadhakshamapanastotram.
The Valmiki Group of Grade VIII 'G' secured the fourth position with 65 points for their recitation of Gopigeetam.
The competition provided a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their Sanskrit knowledge, confidence, and teamwork according to Club In-charge Ms. Santa Kumari Thapa Magar.
