Third Edition of Sporty Parent – Sporty Kid

The Parental Involvement Team, in collaboration with DAV Sports Academy, organised the third edition of Sporty Parent – Sporty Kid, a unique motivational and recreational programme for parents, at the School premises on February 16.
This innovative initiative was first launched in the academic year 2023/24 with the aim of inspiring and encouraging children in sports. This year, the programme saw the active participation of ninety-seven parents representing all sections from Grades VI to XII.
The event was inaugurated by Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal in the presence of Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji and Head of the Physical Education and Sports Department Mr. Purnendu Ghosh.
As part of Sporty Parent – Sporty Kid, competitions were held in Men’s Futsal, Men’s and Women’s Badminton, and Table Tennis. Following the opening ceremony, Sports HOD and his team led all the participating parents through warm-up exercises.
Throughout the event, all the members of the School Management Team, visited the futsal ground and other venues, adding energy and enthusiasm to the atmosphere.
In addition to this, students’ continuous cheering and applause throughout the events were particularly commendable and added to the excitement. All matches concluded by 1:30 PM.
Immediately after the final matches, the winners were honoured with medals by the School Authorities. A total of 75 parents participated in Badminton, 16 in Futsal, and 6 in Table Tennis.
