Kathmandu Kickers Wins the First International Indo–Nepal Football Championship of DAV School

Kathmandu Kickers Football Academy won the First International Indo–Nepal Football Championship, organised by DAV School on the occasion of the 202nd birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati on February 12.
The winners were honoured with awards by DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia in the presence of Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal and prominent national footballers. Vishal Sunar and former Nepali national team captain Anil Gurung attended the three-day tournament to encourage the players.
In the final held on Thursday at the school ground, Jawalakhel Youth Club were defeated by 6–5 in sudden death by Kathmandu Kickers after both sides were tied 3–3 at the end of regular time.
In the third-place match, Mario Grassroots Sports Club faced AG-10 Football Academy. The game ended 1–1 in regular time and was decided through a penalty shootout, where AG-10 Football Academy secured third place.
Bolpur Top Club received the Fair Play Award for their sportsmanship during the tournament.
Among the individual honours, Kabir Tamang of Kathmandu Kickers was named Best Player of the tournament. Siddhant Rai of AG-10 Football Academy emerged as the top scorer, while Jayendra Chaudhary of Jawalakhel Youth Club was declared Best Goalkeeper.
According to the organisers, the champions received a cash prize of Rs 20,000, while the runners-up were awarded Rs 10,000. Individual awards were also bestowed to deserving players.
The participant teams of the tournament were DAV Sports Academy along with Bolpur Town Club (West Bengal, India), Holivision Football Academy, Kathmandu Kickers Football Academy, Jawalakhel Youth Club, Mario Grassroots Club, AG-10 Football Academy, and Dilip Memorial Football Academy.
