Final Round of 'Read to the Principal' in Junior School

The final round of the Read to the Principal programme for Junior School (Grade I to IV) was conducted in Jetavan Hall today (17th December, 2025).
On behalf of the Principal, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Junior School Co-ordinator, Mr. Andrew Fitz Patrick oversaw the programme. The competition was evaluated by Ms. Asha Khadka, Head of the Department of English. The audience comprised students of Grade III 'E', 'F' and 'G' sections.
As a part of the competition, the contestants read excerpts from their selected books presented for the Read to the Principal programme. The judge, Ms. Khadka, interacted with the participants by asking a few questions and appreciated their enthusiasm, confidence and love for reading.

Grade III

• Shirish Maharjan (III/E) – Around the World in 80 Days
• Anugya Karna (III/G) – The Elves and the Shoemaker
Grade II
• Prisha Shrestha (II/A) – The Frog Prince
• Bishesh Joshi (II/B) – Chicken Licken
• Utriksta Pradhan (II/F) – Stories of Robots
Grade I
• Rinaha Bista (I/C) – Princess Polly and the Pony
• Shray Manandhar (I/E) – The Ugly Duckling
• Aafia Azam (I/G) – The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg
In her brief address, Ms. Khadka expressed her sincere gratitude to Junior School for inviting her as the judge for one of its most awaited programmes. She shared that she thoroughly enjoyed watching the young students reading with confidence and expressed her wish to see the same enthusiasm, along with greater participation, in future editions of the Read to the Principal programme.
The programme was efficiently moderated by Megha Thakur of Grade XI ‘B’. The welcome speech was delivered by Karma Shakya of Grade VI ‘C’, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Hazena Sai of Grade VI ‘F’.
