Muffins with Mom: DAV School's Commitment to Integrate Culture within Education

Date: Nov 11th, 2025

DAV School’s dedication to integrate culture within education was beautifully reflected in the Muffins with Mom programme held yesterday, 9th November 2025.
Representative mothers from all sections, ranging from Kindergarten to Grade XII, were warmly invited to participate in this special event. The programme commenced with the mothers visiting their children’s classrooms early in the morning, spending a period sharing their personal experiences and engaging in meaningful interactions with the students. In a gesture of warmth and affection, the mothers also shared a variety of delicious treats with the children.
Following the classroom sessions, all mothers attended the morning assembly, where class teachers and student representatives honoured each of them with a Khanda and a token of appreciation.
The event was graced by DAV Chairperson, Shree Anil Kedia; Vice-principal, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal; CAO, Ms. Vijaya Tater; SSO Mr. Prashant Samal, Senior Co-ordinator, Mr. Tank Meghji Devji; Middle School Co-ordinator, Mr. Krishna Joshi; Junior School Co-ordinator, Mr. Andrew Fitz Patrick; Kindergarten Co-ordinator, Ms. Shanti Gurung; along with all faculty heads, who extended a heartfelt welcome to the invited mothers.
Addressing the assembly, Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia emphasised the profound role of a mother, highlighting her multifaceted responsibilities as a teacher, doctor, and police. He remarked that a child is a reflection of their mother, and life, in many ways, revolves around her influence. He encouraged students to heed their mothers’ guidance, asserting that following a mother’s counsel is key to achieving success in life.
Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, delivering the vote of thanks, observed that Muffins with Mom is a scheduled programme designed to bridge the home and school environment. He stressed that since both home and school share the same goal—the holistic development of children—it is essential to come together and collaborate. He expressed sincere gratitude to the parents for graciously accepting the invitation and attending the event despite their busy schedules.
Representing the mothers’ community, Ms. Laxmi Subedi, Assistant Professor at BPKIHS, Dharan, along with Ms. Anita Kharel and Ms. Kiran Agrawal, addressed the assembly. They praised the School for fostering an environment that strengthens the home-school connection and expressed their heartfelt thanks for being included in this meaningful programme.
The Music Department added a touch of elegance to the occasion with a soulful rendition of a mother’s song, creating moments of joy and celebration. The programme concluded with the mothers being served an assortment of delicious muffins and snacks at the School canteen, leaving everyone with cherished memories of the day.
