DAV School Support for the Educational Initiative of the Nepali Movie Mohar

All the teachers and staff of DAV School, together with Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal and CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater attended a special screening of the educational Nepali movie Mohar at QFX Cinema, Labim Mall yesterday (21st August 2025).

Prior to the screening, the film’s director and story writer, Mr. Om Prateek, along with producer Mr. Chumban Jung Shahi and legal advisor Ms. Shristi Raut, visited the venue. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the school management and teachers for their encouragement and support, and invited the audience to share their feedback through the film’s official Facebook pages. On this occasion, DAV Chairperson and Principal also engaged in a brief interaction with the team and conveyed their best wishes for the success of the project.

In a similar gesture, the lead actor of the film, Mr. Paul Shah, visited the hall before the intermission and warmly thanked the DAV team for taking time to watch the movie. Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia and Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, in turn, extended their good wishes to him for continued success in his film journey.

The film “Mohar” reflects the realities of Old Nepal and sheds light on the practice of Deuki Pratha, while also addressing the struggles of girls burdened by poverty, early marriage and lack of educational opportunities. It stars Mr. Paul Shah, Ms. Niti Shah and Ms. Benisha Hamal in the long list.

According to production team member, Ms. Raut, the funds collected from the film’s screenings in the USA and Canada will be directed towards supporting the education of children in rural and remote areas of Nepal.
