
Dance Teachers from Kathmandu Valley Participate in a One-Day Workshop on Dance and Movement at DAV

Dance teachers from 29 well-known schools and dance academies across Kathmandu Valley took part in a one-day Workshop on Dance and Movement at DAV School on 18th August, 2025.
The workshop was jointly organised by Sushila Arts Academy and DAV School. Ms Yulia Koirala, Founder of Sushila Arts Academy, warmly welcomed the teachers and wished for the successful completion of the programme. She highlighted the importance of such workshops, training sessions and interactions among schools in building a strong network of dance teachers who can share their knowledge and experiences.
The session was conducted by Sashi Ji Ramesh from Prayaag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, India. She gave insightful presentations and involved the participants in various dance styles, including Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Russian Ballet, Nepali and Hip-hop. The workshop was held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
At the end of the programme, all the participating teachers were awarded Certificates of Achievement. Altogether, 58 teachers attended the workshop.
The schools and academies that participated included Deerwalk Sifal, Parijat School, Sushila Arts Academy, DAV School, Budhanilkantha School, Akshara School, The British School, Police School, Ullens School, Savayta School, VS Niketan, Ideal Model School, Sainik School, Aastha Kala Kendra, St Mary’s School, Little Angels’ School, Pathshala Nepal, Pragati Adarsh, Nepal APF School, Kathmandu Pragya Kunja School, Reliance School, Kantipur School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Embassy of India, Kathmandu University High School, Nepal Police School, Apex School, Chelsea School, APF School and Kamyak School.
