Celebration of World Population Day 2025 (Grades V to XII)

To mark World Population Day, DAV School organised a series of engaging and awareness-raising activities for students from Grades V to XII on July 7. The global theme for this year’s observance was “Empowering Young People to Create the Families They Want in a Fair and Hopeful World.” In alignment with this theme, students enthusiastically participated in various class-specific events aimed at enhancing their understanding of population-related issues.
Students of Grade V watched a documentary related to population and global concerns, followed by a reflection-writing activity to express their thoughts and insights. Grade VI students took part in an Inter-section Quiz Competition, which included a wide range of questions related to health, environment, and population.
Grade VII students participated in a Comic Strip Competition in pairs, illustrating topics such as “The Future We Choose” or “Dream City.” Meanwhile, Grade VIII students showcased their oratory skills in an Inter-section Speech Competition on the theme “Educate, Empower and Embrace Change for a Better World.”
In the senior school, Grade IX students created Timeline Infographics depicting the population growth of any country over the past five decades. Grade X students engaged in a lively Inter-section Debate Competition on the thought-provoking topic “Population Growth: Crisis or Opportunity?”
Continuing the celebration, Grade XI students took part in a Poster Making Competition in which they presented five creative slogans based on the World Earth Day theme. Finally, Grade XII students demonstrated their critical thinking and writing abilities through an Essay Writing Competition on the topic “Overpopulation vs Overconsumption: Which Threatens the Planet More?”
All these activities were meticulously planned by Senior School Activity In-charge, Mr. Tankanath Ghimire, under the guidance of the School Management. The winners of each competition will be felicitated with certificates of achievement in due course.
