Homage to Late Sushil Kedia with Sangha Daan and Dhamma Deshana on His 58th Birth Anniversary

On the occasion of 58th birth anniversary of late Sushil Kedia, DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, along with his family, organized a 'Sangha Daan' and 'Dhamma Deshana' ceremony and paid homage to his brother at the school premises today (5th October, 2024).
The event was graced by the benign presence of Honourable Bhikkhu Shilbhadra and Bhikkhu Nigrodha from Bishwoshanti Bihar, Baneshwor; Bhikkhu Bimalo from Siddhi Mangal Bihar, Harisiddhi, Lalitpur; and Bhikkhu Ananda from Munni Bihar, Bhaktapur. A total of 108 monks and nuns from these Bihars received Sangha Daan.
Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia warmly welcomed the Bhikkhus, teachers, students, and devotees, remarking, "DAV considers Sangha Daan a significant school programme." In his address, he emphasized the human life is one of the blessed opportunity of birth and noted that the purpose of ceremonies like Sangha Daan, Dhamma Deshana, and meditation is to help us understand human existence. He expressed his strong belief that the society is now being guided by the teachings of Buddha, referring to it as the "second rule of Buddha."
Following the Chairperson’s invitation, Bhikkhu Bimalo led the Dhamma Deshana session, focusing on how to overcome human suffering. He stressed that Sangha Daan is the highest form of charity, laying the foundation for Nirvana.
Bhikkhu Bimalo elaborated on the path of Tri-Sarana (Buddha, Dharma and Sangha) followed by Tri-Karana (Daan Shil, Bhawana), Tri Niwarana (Raga, Dwyas, Moha), Tri-Darshana (Anitya, Dukha and Nasha) and Tri Charana (Marg, Fala and Nirman). He also emphasized that being born as a human is a precious opportunity, as only in this form can one accumulate good karma.
Bhikkhu Shilbhadra, along with the monks and nuns, offered prayers for the Nirvana of late Shree Sushil Kedia and his parents, late Shree Shankarlal Kedia and late Shreemati Indumati Kedia. The Sangha Daan ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by prayers including the 'Shil Prayer,' 'Panchashil Prayer,' 'Paritran Path,' 'Astadan,' 'Punyanumodan,' and 'Bhojan Daan.'
Shree Anil Kedia, the first lady Shreemati Sunita Kedia, and their son, Shree Aayush Kedia, offered Sangha Daan to all the monks and nuns. DAV School family has actively participated in the Sangha Daan since the school's founding, and the entire school community continues to pray for the peace and sanctity of the departed souls, particularly in memory of Late Sushil Kedia, under the leadership of Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia.
DAV School is a memorial School established by Late Shankarlal Kedia and Late Shreemati Indumati Kedia in 1993 in the memory of their beloved son Late Sushil Kedia who lost his life at the tender age of 19.
Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, Middle School Coordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi, Junior School Co-ordinator Mr. Andrew Fitzpatrick, Kindergarten Co-ordinator Ms. Shanti Gurung, and HR Officer Mr. Ashish Rai, along with faculty heads and teachers, extended a warm welcome and generous hospitality to the monks and nuns at the event.
