Family Jamboree of Grade VIII - 2081

The much-anticipated cultural event, the Family Jamboree of Grade VIII, took place in the Buddha Hall on 15th September.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Giri, Rotarian, with special guest Ms. Yulia Koirala from Sushil Arts Academy. The Guest of Honour was Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, alongside Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, and CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater.
Parents and guardians of the Grade VIII students attended as the audience. The students led their families on a musical journey, featuring captivating songs, dances, and theatrical performances.
The highlights of the evening included performances of Nepali and Hindi songs, a Teej dance, martial arts demonstrations dedicated to the Historic Bronze Medal for Nepal By our esteemed Alumni Palesha Goverdhan, international dances, a parents' game competition, English songs, thematic dances, and classical Katthak and Bharatnatyam performances, along with Bollywood dances.
Middle School Co-ordinator, Mr. Krishna Joshi, warmly welcomed all the parents, noting that the aim of the Family Jamboree is to provide a platform for students to showcase their hidden talents.
Addressing the august gatherings, the Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Giri, expressed that Buddha Hall of DAV School always inspires him to strive for greatness. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia and Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao for transforming DAV into a dreamland of education. He praised the students’ energetic performances and emphasised that true education is about adding value and character to life, beyond just learning facts and figures. He also shared a moral story, captivating the audience with his eloquence.
Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia reflected on his admiration for Mr. Sanjay Giri, recalling how Giri had once been a role model for him during their time in Birgunj. He shared how Mr. Giri’s personality had inspired him to learn English, and how, over time, they had become like a family.
The event concluded with the Chief Guest, Chairperson, and Principal presenting awards to the winning parents. Mr. Nishant Kumar Rai won first place in the competition, followed by Mr. Rujan Shrestha in second place, and Mr. Sanjog Malla in third. A group of parents also evaluated the students' performances, and the winning group will soon receive a surprise treat from the Chairperson and Principal.
The event was attended by several key school officials, including SSO Mr. Prashant Samal, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, Junior School Co-ordinator Mr. Andrew Fitz Patric, Kindergarten Co-ordinator Ms. Shanti Gurung, and HR Mr. Ashish Rai, along with the Faculty Heads, who all extended a warm welcome to the guests.
The programme was moderated by Middle School Activity In-Charge Mr. Surchen Shah and Management Representative Ms. Gauri Tamang. Middle School Teachers Mr. Santosh Rai facilitated the parents' game competition and Mr. Ganesh Paudel delivered the closing vote of thanks, wrapping up the vibrant cultural evening.
