Date: Sep 4th, 2024
DAV School organized a 'Doughnut with Dad' event on the auspicious occasion of Father's Day (Kushe Aunshi/Buwako Mukh Herne Din- 2081 BS) at the school premises on September 2. Fathers representing all classes from Nursery to Grade XII were cordially invited to join the celebration. The Principal, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, along with Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, SSO, Wing Co-ordinators, and Heads of Departments warmly welcomed the fathers, demonstrating the school's commitment to value-based education. The fathers visited classrooms where students were encouraged and inspired, with some sharing their experiences and others interacting with students and teachers. Following this, the fathers attended a special assembly where the students worshipped them putting Tika on their forehead and in return received abundant blessings. The fathers were also honoured with khada, and a memorable gift was presented. At the end, they were served a delicious doughnut and snacks at the School's canteen. Addressing on the auspicious occasion, the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao emphasized that Fatherhood is a role of immense significance and it is a time to reflect on the cultural and philosophical significance of fatherhood, particularly through Eastern Vedic Philosophy. The Principal highlighted the respect given to the role of the father, noting its importance in the spiritual and moral development of a child. The Principal further explained that Eastern Philosophy stresses the concept of Dharma—one's duty and moral responsibility—and teaches the importance of providing education to children while instilling virtues such as truth, righteousness, and respect for all beings. She also encouraged students to honour their fathers and fatherly figures every day. In the same sincerity, Vice Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal expressed sincere gratitude to all the fathers who attended the programme despite their busy schedules. On behalf of the father's community, Mr. Min Prashad Khanal (father of Agraj Khanal), an Officer at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Tribhuvan International Airport, addressed the gathering. He praised the school for organizing the event, describing it as a new experience to interact with large number of sons and daughters. He emphasised that the current generation should excel beyond their and urged students to uphold discipline and a hardworking culture in them. He also thanked DAV for instilling moral values, ethics, and culture in the students. The school's Music Department students performed beautiful songs dedicated to fathers, adding to the joy and elegance of the occasion. Overall, the 'Doughnut with Dad' event was a touching experience where everyone shared their stories and life lessons, strengthening bonds and inspiring the younger generation to make the world a better place.
