Celebration of Family Jamboree of Grade VI

DAV School organized Family Jamboree of Grade VI, a vibrant cultural programme, after regular school hours in Buddha Hall on September 24. The event brought together students, parents, and members of the school community in a celebration of culture, talent, and togetherness.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Prahlad Kumar Regmi, National Organisation Secretary of Janakalyan Pratishthan, Nepal, as the Chief Guest, alongside DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, who attended as the Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, SSO Mr. Prashant Samal, Wing Co-ordinators, HR Manager, and Heads of Departments. Parents and guardians of Grade VI students formed an enthusiastic audience, reinforcing the strong bond between the school and its families.
The formal segment commenced with a Hindi Bhajan, the traditional welcoming of guests, the lighting of the lamp, and the singing of the National Anthem. Delivering the welcome speech, Middle School Co-ordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi highlighted the event as the brainchild of Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, designed with 100% student participation around this session's theme of Grade VI: "LEAD". He emphasized that the Jamboree enhances holistic growth, boosts self-esteem, connects students to heritage, and aims to nurture humble, modest, and respectful individuals.
The cultural lineup featured a variety of performances, including a skit, Kathak and Bharatnatyam classical dances, Bollywood dance, a thematic dance, an English song, an international dance, and a lively Nepali dance. A special "Parents Item" was also featured as part of the celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Prahlad Kumar Regmi called for regenerating family values as a key solution to ongoing problems of youths and children. He urged parents to instill cultural principles like Matridevo Bhava and Pitridevo Bhava (revering mothers and fathers as divine), alongside gratitude toward nature and Istadev. Warning against excessive screen time for both parents and children—citing its connection to developmental concerns like autism—he advocated for purity of speech and living in alignment with the culture that has been passed down to us by our ancestors.
