Inter-house Science Power-point Presentation Competition

'Inter-house Science Power-point Presentation Competition' was organized by Newton Science Club for grade XI and XII students in Jetavan Hall on June 12.
The competition aimed at developing communication and public speaking skills according to Mr. Shovan Bhandari, Club In-charge.
The topics for the presentation were AI in Science and Technology, Biotechnology: Transforming our Lives and Space exploration: Past, Present and Future.
The students who participated in the competition were
Aryan Bhattarai (XI - A) and Rohit Sau (XII -A) from Mt. Annapurna House,
Utkarsh Tiwari (XI - A) and Bhabya Das (XII - A) from Mt. Dhaulagiri House,
Aakarsh Singh (XI - B) and Elina Jha (XII - A) from Mt. Gaurishankar House,
Sachin Gupta (XI - B) and Anvil Shakya (XII - B) from Mt. Kanchanjanga House,
Utsav Jha (XI - C) and Sujata Panda (XII - B) from Mt. Lhotse House
and Aayush Kumar (XI - A) Kasvi Malla (XII - C) from Mt. Machhapuchhre House.
From each house, the participants did a joint presentation on one of the topics and each house was given 10 minutes in total. The judges of the program were Mr. Sajid Lodi and Club In-charge, Mr. Bhandari. The evaluation criteria were content, sequence, data analysis, team work and presentation. The competition attempted to instil research and presentation skills in their learning process.
Mt. Lhotse won the Inter-house Science Presentation Competition. Mt. Kanchanjanga won the second position. The event was coordinated by Senior School Activity In-charge, Mr. Tanka Nath Ghimire and the executive members of Newton Science Club from grade XI.
The moderator of the programme was Isha Modi (XI B) and Arsh Jha (XI C) was on time keeping. The overall co-ordination was done by the Club President, Paridhi Sarawagi (XI B). The audience of the program were Science students of Grade XI.
