Presentation on Animal Welfare

A presentation on 'Animal Welfare' was facilitated by the Counselling Team for the students of Grade III and IV in Buddha Hall on February 13.

Ms. Rajita Budhathoki, Programme Co-ordinator of Animal Nepal, Dhobighat, Lalitpur, presented the roles and responsibilities of human beings towards animals. Ms. Upama Thapa, volunteer of Animal Nepal accompanied Ms. Rajita at the programme.  They were cordially welcomed by the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao with Bouquet and Khada.

Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia along with his international guests participated at the programme and extended support to the campaign of Animal Nepal and their determination on animal welfare.

As a part of the presentation, Ms. Budhathoki interacted with the students and introduced animal welfare as the state of well-being to the animal in respect to health, hygiene, happiness, well-nourishment and safety.

In addition, she also shared how she has been taking care of the helpless animal and is on the way to ensure their freedom from hunger, thirst, discomfort, pain, injury and disease including freedom to express normal behaviour and from the fear and distress.

The students were motivated to take care and love animals at their homes as they had a life and feelings similar to human being. In addition, she also welcomed DAV Students and teachers for human and animal interaction programme at Animal Nepal, Dhobighat, Lalitpur.

Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal extended heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Budhathoki for sparing her invaluable time to the school.
