Visit to Kirtipur Hospital
Date: Nov 21st, 2024
On 21st November 2024, a total of 40 selected students from Classes V to VIII participated in an educational visit to Kirtipur Hospital. The event was organised for Mother Teresa Social Service Club members and HPE students of middle School. The visit began at 11:00 a.m., with students gathering at the main ground of the secondary block as per instructions.
The students were accompanied by their teachers, Mr. Aakash Bishwokarma and Ms. Anu Lama, who guided them throughout the visit.
As a part of the programme, the students attended an informative orientation session on burn safety and prevention conducted by the hospital's senior doctor and director, Dr. Kiran Nakarmi. This was followed by a presentation about the hospital's operations delivered by Dr. Sushma Dongol.
The visit included a tour of the general ward and children’s ward, where the students distributed food items such as biscuits and horlicks. They also engaged in conversations with nurses and staff, gaining valuable insights into their roles and responsibilities.
At the end of the visit, the students contributed small donations to the PHECT organisation, which ensures support for needy patients at the hospital.
The activity aimed to raise awareness about healthcare, instil social service values, and provide students with practical exposure to hospital operations. The students described the visit as an enriching experience, combining learning with the spirit of giving back to the community.
