Science Quiz Contest for Grade V and VI Students

Newton Science Club of Secondary Wing organised science quiz contest for the interested students of Grade V and VI in Pratik Hall on May 17.
The main objective of science quiz contest was to promote analytical and critical thinking of the students in subject matter and enhance communication skills.
In addition, the quiz contest successfully generated the interest of the students to make inquiry on the new development in the field of science and technology according to Club In-charge Mr. Shovan Bhandari. It was awesome to witness students showcasing their praiseworthy preparedness for the competition.
Mr. Bhandari was the quiz-master. The quiz contest was designed in four rounds namely; general round, multiple choices round, visual round and rapid fire round.
The students who participated in competition are Navya Mohta- V 'G' and Shreya Bajracharya- VI 'A' from Mt. Annapurna House, Agramshu Prosper Ghimire –VI 'A' and Aarushi Poddar – V 'C' from Mt. Dhaulagiri House, Manish Kumar Pati – Vi 'H', and Sanskriti Nepal- V 'B' from Mt. Gaurishankar House, Chirag Janin- VI 'G' and Anandita Shrestha – V 'A' from Mt. Kanchanjunga House, Shuprashna Shrestha- V 'F' and Sarman Shakya- VI 'A' from Mt. Lhotse House and Pratiksha Shah- VI 'G' and Mona Mishra- V 'A' from Mt. Machhapuchhre House.
As per the results, Mt. Dhaulagiri House with 75 points won the first position followed by Mt. Kanchanjanga and Mt. Machhapuchhre each with 70 points in the second position. Mt. Annapurna with 60 points won the third position.
For more information, the quiz questions were covered from science text books including contemporary scientific inventions, achievements and inquiries. The volunteers of the programme were Newton Science Club members.
The winners will be introduced in the assembly and honoured with the merit certificate soon.
