Date: Nov 17th, 2025
The Mother Teresa Social Service Club organised an enlightening orientation programme on the Red Cross Society, warmly welcoming Ms. Sanjita Bogati from the Nepal Red Cross Society, Lalitpur District, to Jetavan Hall on 16th November.
The programme was graced by the presence of Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal and Ms. Aarti Sharma, Head of the Social Studies Department.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Bogati expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to present on the Red Cross at DAV School and Nepal Red Cross Society, Lalitpur District, before commencing her presentation.
She traced the history of the Red Cross from its inception to its global development over time, emphasising its humanitarian mission. She highlighted that the Red Cross operates solely as a voluntary, humanitarian service, providing ambulance support, first aid, and healthcare services.
Ms. Bogati also shared her firsthand experiences during the Earthquake Disaster, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the recent Gen Z protests, offering students an insightful perspective on the practical applications of Red Cross principles. She elaborated on the eight core principles of the Red Cross — Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality — alongside essential facts about the organisation.
She expressed great appreciation for the initiatives undertaken by the Junior Red Cross Circle of DAV School during her visit. The programme was moderated by Dakshita Subedi and Anushka Sharma, while the welcome address was delivered by Mr. Shreedhar Subedi, Club In-charge.
