Me and My Profession: Parental Involvement in School Education

The 'Me and My Profession' programme, an informative and motivational talk series organised by the Parental Involvement Team, was held in the senior school on 15th and 16th August 2024.
The event for aGrade IX and X students took place in Indu Hall on August 15, while the session for Grade XI and XII students was held in Jetavan Hall on August 16. Parents from diverse professional backgrounds were invited as resource persons to share their experiences and insights. According to Senior School Activity In-charge, Mr. Tankanath Ghimire, the primary objective of the programme is to familiarize students with various professions, qualifications, and skills.
On August 15, Dr. Bhumiraj Chapagain, a researcher and media trainer (father of Tapashya Chapagain, IX 'D'), delivered a presentation to Grade IX students. He introduced his work as a social worker, researcher, and educator, highlighting the significance of data, data collection methods, and data analysis, particularly in the context of knowledge building.
Similarly, Mr. Prajjwol Khadka, a programme presenter at Radio Kantipur and entrepreneur (father of Kabir Khadka, X 'G'), shared his journey from +2 education to his struggles in Australia and the United Kingdom. He discussed his decision to pursue a career as an RJ/DJ in the media field and his venture into agro-entrepreneurship. He was the resource person for Grade X students.
On 16th August, Mr. Kunwar Dipankar, co-founder of LAI Diplomats Society (guardian of Tanu Priya- XI 'D'), shared his experiences working as a delegate for Model United Nations (MUN) with Grade XI students.
On the same day, Ms. Sucheta Agrawal, a pranic healer and spiritual counsellor (mother of Amrita Agrawal- XII 'E'), conducted a session for Grade XII students, introducing various pranic healing meditation techniques.
Throughout the sessions, there were numerous interactions between the resource persons and the students. The resource persons were warmly welcomed by Vice Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, Senior School Coordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, IX and X SEE In-charge Mr. Narayan Khatiwada, Senior School Activity In-charge Mr. Tankanath Ghimire, and the senior school teaching faculty.
