Inter House Stand-up Comedy held to Celebrate Gaijatra Festival, 2082

The Inter-House Stand-up Comedy Competition, organised as part of the Gaijatra Festival 2082 celebrations, was held in Jetavan Hall on 11th August in the gracious presence of Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal.
A total of 24 selected students from Grades V to VIII participated, each representing their respective houses. The competition provided a lively platform for students to showcase their wit and creativity, with performances infused with humour and satire highlighting various social issues. The event was adjudicated by Senior School Activity In-charge Mr. Tanka Nath Ghimire and Senior School Nepali Language Teacher Mr. Dambar Bikel.
In Grade V, Saurabi Karki of Mt. Dhaulagiri House secured the first position, followed by Samarpan Thapa of Mt. Gaurishankar House in second place and Chandrima Ghosh of Mt. Lhotse House in third. From Grade VI, Sugam Adhikari of Mt. Lhotse House claimed the top spot, with Kritisha Lamsal of Mt. Dhaulagiri House and Tejash Shah of Mt. Gaurishankar House taking second and third positions respectively.
In Grade VII, Shivansh Man Kayastha of Mt. Lhotse House emerged victorious, followed by Dilip Chandra Pahadi of Mt. Kanchanjunga House in second place and Nischal Adhikari of Mt. Gaurishankar House in third. From Grade VIII, Namanshu Mishra of Mt. Kanchanjunga House won first place, while Sonam Yadav of Mt. Dhaulagiri House and Aadishree Paudel of Mt. Gaurishankar House secured the second and third positions respectively.
In the overall house tally, Mt. Lhotse House claimed first place, followed by Mt. Dhaulagiri House in second and Mt. Kanchanjunga House in third.
Addressing the gathering, Nepali Department Head Mr. Narayan Khatiwada expressed his delight at the students’ ability to engage with contemporary social issues through humour and satire. He also provided a brief insight into the origins and significance of the Gaijatra Festival, explaining its cultural relevance and the important role that humour plays in uplifting society. His address concluded with an appreciation of the enthusiasm displayed by the participants and an encouragement for them to continue honing their creative expression.
