
Family Jamboree of Grade V, 2024/25

The Family Jamboree of Grade V was celebrated yesterday, 10th February 2025, in Buddha Hall following the regular school hours.
The event was held in the benign presence of the Chairperson, Shree Anil Kedia, and Guest of Honour, Mr. A. Jerald, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Embassy of India, Lainchaur, Kathmandu.
The formal programme commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the rendition of the National Anthem.
Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, the Principal, extended a heartfelt welcome to all the invited parents and guardians. She highlighted the Family Jamboree as one of the most anticipated events of the school year, offering students a platform to showcase their talents. She expressed immense pride in seeing 256 talented Grade V students step onto the stage, demonstrating their dedication, hard work, and artistic abilities through performances that celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Nepal, India, and the world.
The Principal also expressed her sincere gratitude to the parents for their presence, enthusiasm, and unwavering support. She applauded Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia for his role in fostering diversity within the DAV School community and acknowledged the invaluable presence of Mr. A. Jerald on this auspicious occasion.
The auditorium came alive with a vibrant array of performances, including soul-stirring songs, dynamic dances, and captivating theatrical acts. Students presented a diverse cultural showcase featuring Ekadantaya Vakratundaya bhajans, Bharatnatyam and Kathak dances, thematic performances, international freestyle dance, an English song, a traditional Newari dance, and an energetic Bollywood dance.
Parents were thrilled to witness their children’s remarkable talents and responded with resounding applause and cheers. The overwhelming joy of the moment was evident as many captured these precious memories on their devices.
Guest of Honour Mr. A. Jerald addressed the gathering and commended the students' performances, the dedication of the teachers, and the nurturing environment provided by DAV School. He openly expressed his admiration for the school’s initiatives and wished to implement similar programmes at Kendriya Vidyalaya. He also praised DAV School’s commitment to holistic personality development through a wide range of co-curricular activities, shaping students into individuals of strong character and resilience. Enthusiastically, he expressed his desire to attend future Family Jamborees as a parent and requested the school to invite him for this special occasion.
Adding to the excitement, some parents enthusiastically participated in a fun-filled game competition, further enhancing the joyful atmosphere. They were honoured with awards presented by Mr. A. Jerald in the presence of Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, and CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater.
Some parents were given the responsibility of evaluating the students' performances using assessment sheets. The winning group will soon have the opportunity to meet the Chairperson and the Principal for a special surprise interaction.
Senior School Officer Mr. Prashant Samal, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, Junior School Co-ordinator Mr. Andrew Fitz Patrick, Kindergarten Co-ordinator Ms. Shanti Gurung, HR Head Mr. Aashish Rai, and all the Faculty Heads extended warm hospitality to the invited parents.
Middle School Co-ordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi delivered the closing vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts that made the event a grand success. The programme was expertly moderated by Middle School Activity In-charge Mr. Surchen Shah and Middle School Teacher Ms. Angmu Choden Dukpa, while Mr. Aakash Bishwakarma led the parents' game competition with great enthusiasm.
The Family Jamboree of 2024/25 was a resounding success, leaving behind cherished memories for students, parents, and faculty alike.
