Family Jamboree of Grade VIII - 2080

Family Jamboree, the long-awaited cultural extravaganza of Grade VIII, was observed in the benign presence of Dr. Neven Knezevic, Chief of Education, UNICEF Nepal, and Dr. Rajendraman Banepali in Buddha Hall on September 15.

The special guests of the programme were Grade VIII parents and guardians. The students took their parents to the musical tours, which featured beautiful songs, dances and some theatrical performances.

The key attraction of the cultural evening were band performance, Kathak and Bharatnatyam dance, international dance, parents game competition, Salsa dance, bollywood dance, English song, recreating show  and Navadurga thematic dance respectively.

The Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao cordially welcomed the distinguished guests and esteemed parents' community in the programme and said, 'To foster holistic development, the school has adopted balanced approach that nurtures academic prowess, emotional intelligence, creativity, critical thinking and social skills together'.

Furthermore, the Principal shared that the School is always committed to empower all the students to become lifelong learners who are not only equipped with knowledge but also the skills and mindset to thrive in an ever changing world.

Meanwhile, the Principal also presented some mind boggling concepts of school-community partnership programme in reference to the recent research and studies suitable for all round development of the children.

The Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. Neven Knezevic, Chief of education, UNICEF Nepal wholeheartedly appreciated the hidden talents of the students and noted that all the presentation were wonderful and exciting. In a special emphasis, he also ranked the Family Jamboree to the 'America's Got Talents', and then motivated students to keep all the good works.

On the occasion, he also presented his views on education, the role of parents and extended best wishes for all in the future endeavour.

The Chief Guest along with the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater honoured the winner parents with the award.

As per the results, Mr. Jhan Bahadur Gurung and Ms. Sunkumari Gurung won the first position followed by Mr. Mahesh Pathak and Ms. Arbudia Pathak in the second position and Mr. Arbinda Swami and Ms. Tannu Swami in the third position respectively.

Similarly, a group of parents was assigned the task of evaluating of all the students' performances.

SSO Mr. Prashant Samal, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji along with all the faculty heads were there to extend sincere hospitality and warm welcome to all the invited parents.

Mr. Krishna Joshi, middle school co-ordinator offered thank you note to wrap up the cultural evening.

The moderators of the programme were Ms. Sashilta Rai and Mr. Surchen Shah and Ms. Kamana Adhikari facilitated the parents game competition.
