Educational Excursion to Military Museum, Chhauni, Kathmandu

Date: Jul 25th, 2025
The Mother Teresa Social Service Club of the Senior School organised an educational excursion to the Military Museum in Chhauni, Kathmandu, on 23rd July.
According to Club In-charge Mr Shreedhar Subedi, the primary objective of the visit was to enable students to explore old manuscripts, inscriptions, and archaeological artefacts, thereby deepening their understanding of historical studies. The excursion also aimed to broaden the students’ knowledge of national history and instil a sense of respect for the sacrifices made by the armed forces in the service of the nation.
A total of thirty-four students from the Mother Teresa Social Service Club participated in the programme, accompanied by Mr Shreedhar Subedi and Ms Renu BC.
During the visit, students studied a comprehensive timeline of Nepal’s military history and explored various displays, including historical artefacts, memorabilia, and accounts of valour demonstrated by Nepali soldiers across different eras. The exhibits spanned a wide range of topics, such as the Gurkha legacy, significant battles, traditional and modern weaponry, and the overall evolution of the Nepalese Army.
DAV School continues to organise educational tours, visits, excursions, and field trips both within the country and abroad every year. Such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing students' character development and expanding their learning beyond the confines of the classroom.
