DAV Secured 3rd Runner-up Position in 1st Kathmandu District Level Taekwondo Championship, 2082

DAV Taekwondo players secured the 3rd runner-up position in the 1st Kathmandu District Level Taekwondo Championship, 2082, held on 29th May, 2025. The event was organised by Bishnudevi Taekwondo Dojang at Tinthana-15, Chandragiri. A total of 11 schools and clubs from across the Kathmandu Valley participated in the championship, which featured around 250 players. DAV was represented by 27 players.
The championship turned out to be a proud moment for DAV as 19 players won medals and certificates in various categories. In the individual category, Akshunna Rai earned a gold medal in the female under-9 years poomsae category. Kyozan Tamang secured a silver medal in the male under-30 kg fight category, while Agramshu Prosper Ghimire won third position in the male under-45 kg fight category. Other bronze medalists included Suruchi Thakur (female under-25 kg), Garima Pun (female under-22 kg), Priyal Rijal (female under-28 kg), Prayan Sibakoti (male under-38 kg), Abnish Tamang (male under-32 kg), Ojashwi Dangol (female under-45 kg), Aayushree Banstola (female under-15 years poomsae), and Sherolene Rana Magar (female under-41 kg).
Agrim Budhathoki delivered an exceptional performance, winning a gold medal in the group poomsae under-11 years category, a silver in pair poomsae under-11, and a bronze in individual poomsae under-11 years.
In the pair poomsae events, Syna Shrestha and Aavash Moktan won bronze, while Shreya Bajracharya and Aayan Shrestha secured bronze in the under-15 years pair poomsae category.
In the team events, Aaradhya Khadka, Aangsuk Lama, and Agramshu Prosper Ghimire claimed second position in the male group poomsae under-13 years category. Similarly, Tanishqa Shah, Asmina K.C., and Pritha Gurung took second position in the female group poomsae under-13 category. Syna Shrestha, Jhalak Regmi, and Shreya Bajracharya achieved third position in the female group poomsae under-15 years category, along with Nikita Thakur, Pragya Sibakoti, and Nhujala Shrestha. In the male group poomsae under-15 years category, Aavash Moktan, Aryan Shrestha, and Abhinamra Paudel secured third position.
The students were accompanied and guided by Taekwondo teachers Ms. Ranju Tamang, Ms. Ashmita Tamang, and Mr. Hem Raj Shahi. Their support played a key role in the team’s overall success in the championship.
