Doughnut with Dad A Heart warming Celebration of Fatherhood 2025

Date: Nov 18th, 2025

The Parental Involvement Team of DAV School organised a delightful Doughnut with Dad event, reflecting the school’s commitment to value-based education, on 17 November at the school premises.
To mark the celebration, representative fathers from all sections (Nursery to Grade XII) were invited to the school. A delegation of Research and Academic Heads — Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, SSO Mr. Prashant Samal, along with Co-ordinators from all wings and Heads of Departments — warmly welcomed the fathers, reaffirming the school’s dedication to nurturing strong values among its students.
The fathers were then escorted to the classrooms for an interactive and motivational session. Some shared their own experiences, while others engaged in inspiring conversations with the students and teachers. It was heart-warming to witness fathers sharing delicious doughnuts with the children, while others brought sweets, refreshing drinks, and various treats, adding joy to the occasion.
Following the classroom activities, all the fathers gathered for a special assembly. Each father was honoured with a khada and a memorable token of appreciation from the students and teachers.
Addressing the auspicious occasion, DAVKVB Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia warmly welcomed all the fathers. He fondly remembered his late father, Late Shree Shankar Lal Kedia, expressing deep nostalgia for the confidence his father had placed in him to lead and care for the institution. He reflected on how humility and generosity were ingrained in him from a young age through his father’s example. “Today, DAV SKVB stands tall around the world because of the nobility, humility, and discipline my father instilled in me,” he noted with pride.
He encouraged students to value their parents’ guidance, describing parents as divine figures whose greatest wish is to see their children grow into better versions of themselves. He reminded them that failing to respect one’s parents means overlooking the very people responsible for one’s existence and upbringing.
In the same spirit, Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the fathers for making time in their busy schedules to encourage and inspire their children. He emphasised DAV SKVB’s commitment to integrating culture into education, highlighting that the objective of the programme was to foster meaningful interactions and provide children with the right guidance for their life’s journey.
Speaking on behalf of the fathers’ community, Mr. Balkrishna Karki, Dr. Manoj Kumar Thakur, Mr. Ujjwal Chand, Mr. Vipin Audichya and Mr. Surendra Dangol shared that it was a privilege and honour to be part of such a wonderful initiative. They praised DAV SKVB for its role in character building and commended the sincere efforts of the School Management and teaching faculty in motivating students to work hard during their school years — a precious phase of life that does not return once gone.
Meanwhile, Somnath Rauniyar, a student of Grade IX ‘G’, presented a beautiful song dedicated to fathers, supported by the Music Department, adding charm and emotional depth to the celebration.
Overall, the Doughnut with Dad programme was a touching and memorable event where stories, life lessons, and heartfelt moments were shared. The spirit of togetherness and bonding celebrated on this day will undoubtedly help guide the younger generation towards making the world a kinder and better place.
The programme was moderated by Ms. Asha Khadka (Head of the English Department), Mr. Surchen Shah (Middle School Activity In-charge), and Ms. Diksha Pahari (Junior School Teacher).
