Cultural Fiesta of Raga and Taal at DAV School

DAV School, in collaboration with Sushila Arts Academy, Nepal, presented 'Tarang: Cultural Fiesta of Raga and Taal' with resplendent success and grandeur on April 24, within the school premises.
Ms. Yulia Koirala, representing Sushila Arts Academy, extended a warm welcome to all invited guests and artists, providing a comprehensive overview of the past year's initiatives undertaken by DAV School and Sushila Arts Academy in Nepal. Ms. Koirala wholeheartedly appreciated the guidance and support extended by DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia and Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao over past one session at DAV and expected similar support in upcoming days.
The evening's highlights included mesmerizing performances by students, featuring the Symphony of Tatkar Jai Puri Gharana and Thumri (Kathak) dance, the Tale of Kashi Vishwonatham (Bharatnatyam), and a Jugalbandhi showcasing Classical Feet from South and North India, culminating with the song 'Zara Sa Jhoom Loo Me.'
Adding to the enchantment were performances by renowned Indian classical dance artists, including Ms. Sashi Ramesh, MA, Gold Medalist in Bharatnatyam, and Ms. Vibhabari Ashish Nevrekar, an esteemed Kathak artist from India. Additionally, Mr. Shiva Prasad N N, a distinguished Classical Vocal Instructor from India, graced the audience with his outstanding performance.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Shri Prasanna Shrivastava, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, expressed his delight and honour at being part of the program. He commended the performing artists for showcasing their exceptional creativity and talent, extending his best wishes for their future endeavours. Shrivastava underscored the multifaceted and innate relationship between Nepal and India at the grassroots level. Shreemati Nidhi Shrivastava also attended the event and added elegance and ecstasy into the atmosphere.
On the occasion, seventeen teachers specializing in Dance and Music from Nepal and India were honoured with tokens of appreciation by Chief Guest Shri Prasanna Shrivastava, in the presence of DAV Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao.
Among those recognized were Ms. Sashi Ramesh, Ms. Vibhabari Ashish Nevrekar, and Mr. Shiva Prasad N N, esteemed instructors in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Classical Vocal respectively, from India.
Similarly, from DAVSKVB, Mr. Raju Singh, Mr. Jay Shrivastav, Ms. Srijana Shrestha, Mr. Lizendra Maharjan, and Mr. Sujit Ranjitkar, representing various roles in Music and Dance departments, were honoured for their outstanding contributions.
Likewise, from Sushila Arts Academy, Nepal, Ms. Binita Mandal, Ms. Anu Lama, Mr. Prakash Bikram Giri, Ms. Aakanshya Ghimire, and Ms. Anjana Raut, distinguished instructors in Bharatanatyam and Kathak, were also acknowledged for their exemplary dedication and expertise.
Similarly, following the same vein of recognition, Mr. Saroj Adhikari, a Music Teacher specializing in Flute, Mr. Bhim Adhikari, a Music Teacher specializing in Rhythm, Mr. Devison Maharjan, a Music Teacher specializing in Guitar, Mr. Bibek Thapa, a Music Teacher specializing in Vocal, Mr. Ramhari Poudel, a Music Teacher specializing in Vocal, Mr. Jeetendra Chaudhary, a Music Teacher specializing in Vocal, Mr. Sanjay Magar, a Dance Instructor for the Middle School, Ms. Sarita Khadka, a Dance Instructor for the Kindergarten Wing, Ms. Shashi Paudel, a Dance Instructor for the Junior School, Mr. Janak Chaudhary, a Dance Instructor for the Middle School, Ms. Deepama Basnet, a Dance Instructor for the Middle School, and Ms. Narmila Subedi, a Dance Instructor for the Middle School, all from DAVSKVB, were honoured with tokens of appreciation.
Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, SSO Mr. Prashant Samal and +2 Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji along with all the Co-ordinators and Faculty Heads were there to extend sincere hospitality and warm welcome to all the invited guests.
The moderators of the programme were middle school teacher Ms. Shashilta Rai and Ms. Mohini Tamang. The programme concluded with the 'Thank You Note' from Grade XII student Aastha Thakur.
