Award Ceremony of Silver Zone Foundation, 2023

The Award Ceremony of Silver Zone Olympiad, New Delhi, India held at the DAV School premises on April 28, 2024, was a resounding success.
The formal proceedings commenced with a welcoming ceremony for the esteemed guests, including Chief Guest Shree Krishna Prashad Adhikari, Vice-president of PABSON, Silver Zone Olympiad Officials Dr. Nishi Phogat and Pankaj Gahlot, Shree Anil Kedia, Chairperson of DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School and Colleges, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Principal of DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School, Mr. Hira Maharjan, President of Lalitpur PABSON, Mr. Surya Adhikari, Advisor to National PABSON, Mr. Ranjit Thapa, Principal of Kanjirowa School, Balkumari, Lalitpur, Mr. Ramu Pandey, Principal of IJ Pioneer School, Lalitpur, Mr. Chandrayan Shrestha, Principal of The Chandbagh School, Kathmandu, and Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, Vice Principal of DAV School.
Shree Anil Kedia, in his warm welcome address, expressed appreciation for the innovative approach of the Silver Zone Olympiad in providing global competitive platforms for young learners. He emphasized the significance of competitive examinations like the Silver Zone Olympiad in helping students gauge their potential on a global scale and excel in their future endeavors. Additionally, he underscored the importance of instilling discipline, moral values, and ethics alongside academic pursuits, urging educators to prioritize emotional and social intelligence in the modern era of expanding knowledge.
Highlighting the exceptional achievements of DAV students in Science, Mathematics, and English Olympiads, Shree Anil Kedia praised their dedication and success in competing and securing medals, thereby enhancing the reputation of DAV School in the Silver Zone Olympiad.
A total of one hundred and ten students from Grade III to XII were honoured for their outstanding performance in the Silver Zone Olympiad of 2023, receiving medals and merit certificates.
Moreover, the leadership and guidance provided by individuals such as Shree Anil Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji and department heads- Mr. Kamalesh Karna (Science), Mr. RK Tripathi (Mathematics) and Mr. Umesh Saud (English) were acknowledged with the prestigious Silver Zone Leadership Award. Additionally, class in-charges involved in the smooth conduct of the Olympiad examinations were also recognized with Certificate of Appreciation during the ceremony.
Further accolades were bestowed upon thirty-six students who excelled in the International Olympiad of Science (IOS) 2023, with one student receiving the Zonal Topper Medal of Excellence Award (Silver Medal). In the Medal of Excellence category, nine students received Gold medals, eleven received Silver medals, and fourteen received Bronze medals, while one student secured a Silver medal in the Class Topper category.
Similarly, in the International Olympiad of Mathematics (IOM) 2023, there were thirty-three winners. Among them, in the Medal of Excellence (State Topper) category, ten students secured Gold medals, eleven students attained Silver medals, and five students received Bronze medals. In the same subject, seven students were awarded the Medal of Excellence (Class Topper), with two students earning Silver medals and five students achieving Bronze medals.
Likewise, in the International Olympiad of English Language (IOEL), there were forty-one winners. Among them, one student achieved a Bronze medal in the Medal of Excellence (Zonal Category). In the Medal of Excellence (State Topper) category, there were 33 winners, with thirteen receiving Gold medals, ten earning Silver medals, and ten securing Bronze medals. Additionally, in the same subject, seven students were honored with the Medal of Excellence (Class Topper) Award, with one student receiving a Silver medal and six students attaining Bronze medals.
Adding to the vibrancy of the Award Distribution Ceremony, DAV students showcased their talents through cultural performances. From Kindergarten to Grade XII, students presented various performances including the Pancha Kumari Dance, English Dance, Symphony of Tatkar Jai Puri Gharana and Thumri (Kathak Dance), Nepali and Hindi Songs, Hip-hop Dance, and a Jugalbandi of Classical Feet from South and North India.
The Chief Guest, Shree Krishna Prashad Adhikari, Vice-president of PABSON, extended congratulations to all the winners honored during the ceremony and applauded the creativity and talent displayed in the cultural program. He also reminisced about his experiences with Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia in the field of Education and acknowledged the significant contributions made by Private Schools both within the country and globally.
Dr. Nishi Phogat, representing the Silver Zone Foundation, New Delhi, India, delivered a presentation highlighting the global reach and objectives of the Silver Zone Olympiad, emphasizing its impact on students' knowledge enrichment in Science, Mathematics, and English. She expressed hope for future collaborations with DAV School.
The Master of Ceremonies for the programme was Mr. Umesh Saud, Head of the Department of English. The audience included students, parents of awardees, and teachers from different wings.
