3-day Souper Bowl Food Donation Programme, 2024

Mother Teresa Social Service Club of DAV School successfully organised the Souper Bowl Food Donation Programme, a pioneering initiative in Nepal's schools, from 3rd to 5th December 2024.
The programme aimed at instilling values of care and compassion among the students while extending support to the local community. With the theme "Give your hands to serve and your hearts to love", the campaign saw enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and staff, who generously donated non-perishable food items like beaten rice, rice, pulses and beans, flour/maida/suji, oil, sugar, biscuits/cookies, noodles/bhujiya/dalmoth, tea, spices/dry fruits etc.
Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Vice-principal Mr. Ram Chandra Khanal and CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater along with all the members of School Management participated in the donation programme with the students and staff.
The charitable initiatives of DAVSKVB School were graced by the benign presence of Asha Singh CJ. Principal Maryward School, Lubhu, Lalitpur, Advocate LIONS Adhyatma Subedi and Mr. Nim Prakash Singh Rathaur, Head of the Education Development and Co-ordination Unit, Lalitpur. Witnessing the donation efforts of the entire DAV community, the guests wholeheartedly praised the humanitarian spirit displayed by the students and staff. They also commended DAV School for its exemplary role as a socially responsible organisation.
Over the three days, the collected items were distributed to various organisations, including Mary Ward School (Jhamshikhel and Lubhu branches), Manjushree Elderly Home at Dholahiti, the Rotary Club of Pashupati in Kathmandu, The Orphans Home at Tikhideval, and Ashraya Nepal at Bagdole.
The Souper Bowl Food Donation Programme is a biannual event organised by the Social Service Club of DAVSKVB since the school’s inception. The initiative embodies the club's mission to foster a culture of sharing and caring within the community, reflecting the school’s unwavering commitment to social responsibility.
