1st International Science Exhibition

National Science Foundation, India and DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati jointly organized the 1st International Science Exhibition at the School premises yesterday (10th November, 2022).

A total of 11 schools from Nepal and India participated in the event and made innovative science models. 

Addressing the programme, International convener, Shree Anil Kedia shed a light on the importance of inner science and outer science. He strongly believed that people should strive for inner enlightenment to make their better presence in the physical world. In a special focus, he also motivated all the attendees and said enhancement and upgrading of the technology is the fundamental requirement as per the time without which the questions could rise for the survival of human beings. He equally appreciated all the exhibitions.

The national convener, Shree Sunil Kumar said, '1st International Science Exhibition' was a part of International Science Day. He was all praise to DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati Management Team for all the initiation of Knowledge, Technology and Cultural Exchange programmes.

The Chief Guest of the programme, Prof Dr. Mahendra Maharjan (Asst. Dean) Institute of Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University, Kritipur, Kathmandu was highly delighted to be the part of 1st International Science Exhibitions and appreciated DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati as the resource institution in the exhibitions. He congratulated DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, National Convener Shree Sunil Kumar and DAV Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao for providing wonderful opportunity to the students.

DAV Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao made presentation on how UN came up with World Science Day Celebration. The Principal also briefed about the motto of United Nations dedicated for the peace and development and then motivated students to keep humanity intact among them. She also congratulated all the contestants for their wonderful concepts and innovative models.

 The World Science Day is celebrated on 10th November and theme for this year was 'Global Sustainable Development Industry- Innovation and Infrastructure'.  

The judges were Mr. Manoj Kumar Thakur (Asst. Prof) Department of Physics, Institute of Science and Technology, Tri-chandra Campus Kathmandu, Nepal and Er. Ajaya Shrestha, Head of Department Computer and Electronics Engineering, Advanced College of Engineering and Management (TU). The programme was also graced by Mr. Umesh Singh, Director, Turning Point School, Patna India.

The models demonstrated in the exhibitions were water reservoir of Iron and steel industry, water overflow alert system, touch switch, thunderstorm alarm, flood detecting system, smart city, ocean garbage purifier, multipurpose land rover and solar powered lamps among others.

As per the results, St. Mary's School, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur secured the first position in the model making competition followed by Kendriya Vidyala, Kathmandu and Dnyan Ganga High School, Pune India in the second and the third position respectively.

Similarly, Dyan Ganga High School and DAV Sushil Kedia  Vishwa Bharati School appeared victorious in model display competition.

On the occasion, Dr. Bhubaneswari  Rao, Principal of DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bhararti and Ms. Renuka Dutta, Principal of Dnyan Ganga High School Pune, India were honoured with United Nations Sustainable Development Award, 2022 for their international co-operation in United Nations Sustainable Development Program.

The moderators of the Programme were Science HoD Mr. Kamalesh Kumar Lal Karn and English HoD, Mr. Umesh Saud. All the teachers of Science department along with Prefect council members were there to extend sincere hospitality and support to the guests and participants.

To end, the students associated with Mayur Dance Club presented their astounding dance skills and added elegance to the programme.
