Senior School Celebrates Children’s Day with Special Assembly and Saathi Circle

The Senior School section (Grades IX to XII) celebrated Children’s Day on September 10 with a joyful and meaningful programme centered on student potential, respect and responsibility.
The highlight of the day was a special morning assembly conducted entirely by the faculty members. The programme began with a recitation of William Wordsworth’s famous poem My Heart Leaps Up, setting a reflective tone on the beauty of childhood and how early experiences shape our lives by Head of the English Department Ms. Asha Khadka. Teachers reminded students that Children’s Day is not only about fun and celebration, but also about valuing family, respecting teachers and the school, and understanding our rights and responsibilities.
The assembly featured national and international news presented by Mr. Purshottam Rijal, HoD, Sanskrit, and Mr. Purshottam Pokhrel, HoD, Hindi. Mr. Punendu Ghosh, HoD, Sports, shared the sports news, while the weather report was presented in Chinese by language instructors Ms. Song Xinyu and Ms. Li Yaquin. Mr. Sabin Shakya, HoD, Foreign Languages, introduced the Language of the Day, and Ms. Prabha Maharjan, French Language Instructor, shared the Thought of the Day. Mr. Modnath Paudel, Nepali Language Teacher, also delivered a special sharing. The assembly was further enriched by musical and artistic performances organised in collaboration with the Music and IT Departments.
Following the assembly, students took part in class-wise Saathi Circle activities. The sessions encouraged open interaction, friendship and reflection while giving students an opportunity to appreciate one another’s unique creativity, strengths and potential.
