Number Ninja Competition: Principal Highlights Mathematics as the Spine of Knowledge in the AI EraThe Department of Mathematics and Aryabhatta Mathematics Club organized a competition titled "Number Ninja: Master the Magic of Multiplication" for Middle School students (Grade V to VIII) on August 14.
A total of 18 contestants qualified for the final round, representing all school houses in a display of exceptional numerical skills. Senior school Mathematics Teacher Mr. Shyam Lal Das served as the Quiz Master for the event.
Addressing the middle school students, the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao emphasized that Mathematics serves as the spine of knowledge in the Age of AI, highlighting it as a foundation to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Reflecting on her own school experiences, she urged students to master essential mathematical concepts. She noted that the 'Number Ninja' program was the brainchild of Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia and shared his best wishes for its success. Expressing her delight with the contestants' teamwork, she extended her best wishes to all DAV students to excel in Mathematics and in their future endeavors.
The competition concluded with Mount Annapurna House securing the first position through the team of Samriddhi Naral (Grade VI 'F'), Kavyanjali Jaiswal (Grade VII 'B'), and Aarav Shakya (Grade VIII 'A'). Mount Lhotse House achieved the second position with team members Vishesh Adhikari (Grade V 'F'), Shashank Khadgi (Grade VII 'B'), and Pragya Shah (Grade VIII 'I'). The third position was claimed by Mount Dhaulagiri House, represented by Riyanshu Paudel (Grade V 'F'), Eshan Jha (Grade VI 'A'), and Raemon Shrestha (Grade VII 'G').
