Grand Felicitation Ceremony Marks the Silver Zone Foundation Olympiad Symposium at DAV School

The prestigious Felicitation Ceremony of the Olympiad Symposium, organized by the Silver Zone Foundation (New Delhi, India) for the academic session 2025/26, was celebrated with grandeur in Buddha hall on June 12. The event brought together a distinguished galaxy of intellectuals, educators, proud parents, and meritorious students.
The symposium was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Tirtha Raj Khaniya (Former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Nepal), alongside DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia. Other eminent dignitaries included Special Guest Shree Mahabir Daruka, First Lady Shreemati Sunita Kedia, and Mr. Ayush Kedia (Director, DAV School). Representing the Silver Zone Foundation were Mr. Pankaj Gahlot (Chief Operating Officer) and Mr. Sudip Naik (Manager of International Business). The event also saw the presence of CBSE Master Trainer and Resource Person, Mr. Rajan Kumar Sharma, DAV Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, and the school's administrative team. Notably, around 30 Chairpersons and Principals from renowned schools across all seven provinces of Nepal attended the ceremony.
The formal proceedings commenced with a warm welcome to the guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the national anthem. In his welcome address, Mr. Pankaj Gahlot highlighted the foundation's 23-year legacy, noting that it has earned the trust of over 4.20 crore students and 2.15 lakh schools across 72 countries through its 12 diverse language and non-language Olympiads.
The celebration was further enlivened by DAV students, who showcased mesmerizing cultural performances, including a Patriotic Dance, Bharatnatyam, a musical depiction of Mahabharat's Draupadi Chirharan, and a vibrant fusion dance.
A major highlight of the event was the acknowledgment of educational leaders. Representatives of the Silver Zone Foundation, alongside the Chief Guest and DAV Chairperson, felicitated the visiting school heads on stage for their exemplary contributions to Nepal's education sector.
The pinnacle of the day was the distribution of awards to students excelling in English, Science, Mathematics and Hindi subjects. Among the top honorees, Yajat Dev Bhatta (Grade XII) was conferred the prestigious Silver Zone Scholar of the Year Award.
The All-Round Excellence Award was swept by brilliant minds across various cohorts: Kritika Chhetri (Grade III), Aayara Ghimire (Grade III), Riyanshu Poudel (Grade IV), Sambriddhi Naral (Grade V), Aarya Thakur (Grade VI), Advaita Chaitanya (Grade VII), Sherolene Rana Magar (Grade VIII), Shreeyash Raj Khanal (Grade IX), Saurek Man Pati Shakya (Grade X), Purvansh Bhatta (Grade XI), and Suraj Purve (Grade XII). They were the winners in Science, Mathematics and English Olympiad. Additionally, hundreds of students were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, claiming honours as Zonal Toppers, State Toppers, and Class Toppers.
In his keynote address, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Tirtha Raj Khaniya lauded the Silver Zone Foundation for its global impact and advocated for a humanistic approach to schooling. "There must be a harmonious blend of Science and Technology with a humanistic touch in modern education," he emphasized.
Concluding the academic discourse, Mr. Rajan Kumar Sharma delivered an insightful presentation on "Future-Ready Skills in the Era of Competence." He outlined the top skills required for 2030, underscoring how competitive examinations like the Olympiad serve as a gateway to excellence and prepare students across 72 countries for global challenges.
