Workshop on Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) with Ms. Preethi Bhaskar from Los Angeles, USA
Date: Jun 11th, 2026
Students of Grades V to VIII had a wonderful opportunity to attend an Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) workshop held in Jetavan Hall on June 11.
The resource person for the programme was Ms. Preethi Bhaskar, a renowned EFT practitioner, registered nurse, and life coach from Los Angeles, USA. She was warmly welcomed by Middle School Coordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi and School Counsellor Ms. Shreejana Rana.
Having worked with thousands of students, Ms. Bhaskar introduced children to EFT, also known as Tapping Techniques, in a simple and child-friendly way. She explained that emotions are messages from the body and demonstrated how tapping and breathing exercises can help release negative feelings and promote emotional well-being.
As a part of the session, students wrote down three things they were grateful for, and some of them shared their thoughts with everyone. Ms. Bhaskar also discussed feelings experienced before examinations, and many students shared that they often feel nervous or scared. She then guided them through EFT tapping and breathing exercises to help them manage such emotions.
Encouraging a positive mindset, she inspired students to trust their body and mind and remain hopeful in their journey. She also briefly introduced the printable emotion cards and the feelings thermometer.
Towards the end of the programme, DAV School Counsellor Ms. Shreejana Rana, in co-ordination with the resource person, conducted an activity in which students filled balloons with air and released them as a way of letting go of stress and weak emotions.
Students shared that they felt refreshed, relaxed, and happy after the tapping session. The workshop was also attended by teachers from the Middle and Junior Schools. At the end of the session, all participating students received an Activity Counseling Reflection Worksheet to complete and submit to their class teachers the following school day.
