Celebration of World Environment Day, 2026

DAV School celebrated World Environment Day on June 5 with great energy and enthusiasm through a series of environmental awareness activities organised by the Vasudha Eco Club. The celebration followed the global theme, “Inspired by Nature, for Climate, for Our Future,” and involved students from Nursery to Grade XII.
According to Vasudha Eco Club In-charge Ms. Pragati Khadka, the main objective of the programme was to spread environmental awareness, promote sustainable habits, and encourage students to become responsible citizens who care for nature and the climate.
The celebration began with a special morning assembly organised by the Vasudha Eco Club in the Senior School. A Walkathon was also held in the Lalitpur Metropolitan City area, where around 250 students from Mt. Lhotse House took part, carrying placards with meaningful environmental messages. The event was formally inaugurated by Mr. Ramchandra Khanal in the presence of SSO Mr. Prashant Samal and Senior School Coordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji.
A tree plantation programme was also organised on the school premises. DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, along with Mr. Ramchandra Khanal and parent representatives, joined the activity and highlighted the importance of protecting nature and increasing green spaces.
Students from different grades participated in various creative and educational activities. Grade X students wrote articles on Climate Action, while Grade IX students attended an environmental documentary screening. Grades XI and XII took part in a short video-making competition on climate awareness.
Middle School students also actively participated in different events. Grade VIII students joined poster and slogan writing competitions, Grade VII students took part in collage making, Grade VI students participated in a drawing competition on saving the environment, and Grade V students engaged in a Green Corner Classroom Activity.
Primary students from Grades I to IV enjoyed MS Paint, poster making, and slogan writing activities related to the environment. Kindergarten students watched a documentary and participated in a colouring competition, making the day enjoyable and meaningful for them as well.
Overall, the day-long celebration successfully encouraged students to develop environmental responsibility and inspired them to work towards a greener and more sustainable future.
