Documentary Show on Living Goddess Kumari and Kumari Dance Form

The Dance Department of DAV School, in collaboration with Mayur Dance Club, organised a documentary show in Jetavan Hall on May 26.
Students from Grades V to XII associated with the club actively and enthusiastically participated in the programme.
The documentary introduced students to the traditional Kumari Dance and explained its close connection with the Living Goddess Kumari of Kathmandu. It gave students meaningful information about the history, rituals, and cultural importance of the Kumari tradition. The documentary also explained the process of selecting the Kumari Goddess and highlighted the belief that the Living Goddess Kumari is regarded as another form of Taleju Bhawani.
In addition, students learned different steps of the Kumari Dance and understood the meaning behind each movement through the documentary presentation.
According to Club In-charge Mr. Lizendra Maharjan, the main objective of the documentary show was to help students understand the cultural and spiritual significance of worshipping the Living Goddess Kumari.
